Job summary

Institute for the Redesign of Learning (IRL) is seeking a Contracted Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist for the Commerce Clinic in California. The role offers a flexible contract basis with a rate of $250/hour and a schedule of 8 hours/1 day per week.

You will conduct evaluations, prescribe medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support children and families. Strong documentation in Exym and culturally responsive care are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid California MD/DO license required.
• Board Certification or Eligibility in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Current DEA license.
• Experience evaluating and treating children and adolescents.
• Outpatient care experience in a community clinic.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills with commitment to diversity and culturally responsive care.
• Proficiency with EHRs; Exym experience is a plus.
• DMH-funded agency experience desirable.
• Bilingual/Spanish skills desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications and provide ongoing medication management, follow-up, and education.
• Build strong therapeutic relationships with clients and their caregivers.
• Collaborate with therapists, case managers, families, and community partners.
• Complete timely clinical documentation in Exym, our electronic health record system.
• Monitor treatment progress, medication effectiveness, and side effects.
• Provide culturally responsive care to a diverse community of children, adolescents, and families.
• Provide coverage for psychiatrists when needed.
• Bring clinical leadership and expertise in community-based mental health care.
