Job summary

CFO Selections is seeking experienced consultants to serve as outsourced CFOs/Controllers for a diverse client base in the greater Seattle market. This role emphasizes strategic financial leadership on a part-time basis across growth strategy, cash flow management, and governance.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in senior finance roles, nonprofit expertise, and hands-on experience with reporting, modeling, and external partners.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree or recognized financial certifications preferred.
• 20 years total experience with at least 10 years in senior finance roles in any industry or nonprofit.
• Nonprofit focus with grant reporting, board/audit governance, fund reporting and restrictions, and 990 series tax forms with audits coordination.
• Direct/VP/CFO-level experience at small to medium firms; hands-on, reporting to senior management and external partners.
• Experience as a 1099 consultant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as outsourced CFO/Controller for clients, often on a part-time basis.
• Oversee all activities of clients' financial operations and ensure timely dissemination of financial information and analysis.
• Provide cash forecasting, strategic/operational/tactical planning, budgeting, and financial support to senior management.
• Liaise with external CPA firms, banks, legal and other professional service providers.

What You’ll Do:

Our consultants act as the outsourced CFOs and Controllers for our clients, often on a part-time basis. They serve as trusted partners and advisers to our clients in a variety of areas, including growth strategies, cash flow management, operating best practices, bank and investor relations, and compliance strategies.

Responsibilities include overseeing all activities of a client’s financial operations for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial information and analysis, cash forecasting and management, strategic, operational, and tactical planning and counsel to clients’ senior management, business modeling, forecasting, metrics, budgeting, and financial support of managers and operating division of clients.

Requirements:

• BS Degree in Accounting / Finance, advanced degree, or other recognized financial certifications preferred.
• 20 years of total experience with at least 10 years at a senior finance level in any industry or with non-profit organizations.
• Nonprofit focus should include substantial experience in grant reporting, board/audit committee governance, direct and indirect expense allocations, reporting and tracking of multiple funds and restrictions within an organization, tax preparation including forms 990, 990PF, 990-T, government contract reporting, and coordination of audits.
• Ideal candidates must have strong Director of Finance/ VP Finance/CFO background at small to medium sized firms. This is hands-on: build the model, write the report, prepare the presentation, and function as an active member of clients’ senior team (experience as primary interface with external CPA firms, banks, legal, and other professional service providers).
• Oversight of all activities of clients’ financial operations for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial information and analysis, cash forecasting and management, strategic, operational, and tactical planning (risk management experience a plus), and counsel to clients’ senior management and financial support of managers and operating divisions of clients.
• Past experience working as a 1099 consultant is preferred.
