Job summary

Boston Bioprocess, Inc. in Champaign, IL is seeking a Contract Bioprocess Associate to support bench- and pilot-scale fermentation development.

You will assist with setup, sample processing, data recording, and collaboration with engineers to optimize processes for proteins, lipids, amino acids, and more. This six-month contract requires a bachelor’s in a relevant science, strong attention to detail, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, setup, and maintenance of lab or pilot plant equipment and experiments.
• Receive, label, and process samples; maintain documentation of sample information and procedures.
• Operate and maintain lab and pilot plant equipment; troubleshoot with engineers.
• Record and organize experimental data; assist in analysis to support project objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively.
• Maintain a clean, safe lab space and participate in calibration of equipment.
