The Contract Analyst Sr. supports AEP's Nuclear Development organization and plays a key role in the procurement and commercial management of activities associated with the evaluation, development, licensing, engineering, construction, operations and maintenance of nuclear generation assets. This position is responsible for developing sourcing and contracting strategies, negotiating and administering contracts, managing commercial risk, and supporting supplier engagement activities for complex projects and services. The successful candidate will work closely with project management, engineering, licensing, environmental, legal, finance, operations and quality assurance personnel to support critical business objectives. The role requires strong contract negotiation, analytical, and relationship management skills, along with the ability to balance cost, schedule, quality, and risk considerations in a highly regulated environment. The Contract Analyst Sr. will develop contract strategies, prepare and negotiate commercial agreements, administer contract modifications, support supplier performance and commercial issue identification and resolution, as well as provide routine progress updates to key stakeholders throughout the contract lifecycle.
Support procurement and contracting activities associated with nuclear development projects, including engineering, environmental, licensing, site evaluation, consulting, owner’s engineering, construction and commissioning support, major equipment procurements, and on-going operations and maintenance support. Develop commercial strategies that support project objectives while considering regulatory, quality assurance, schedule, and risk management requirements. Collaborate with engineering, licensing, environmental, project management, finance, legal, quality, and operations organizations to ensure contract requirements align with business and project needs.
Evaluate and negotiate contractual provisions related to liability, indemnification, insurance, warranties, intellectual property, confidentiality, regulatory compliance, performance guarantees, and dispute resolution. Identify and communicate commercial risks and recommend mitigation strategies to project and business stakeholders. Support contract governance and documentation processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory obligations.
Assist in developing scopes of work, requests for proposal (RFPs), commercial evaluation criteria, and negotiation strategies. Assist in evaluating supplier capabilities, financial strength, performance history, and commercial competitiveness. Participate in the development of sourcing strategies that promote competition, schedule certainty, quality performance, and long-term value creation.
Base Salary: approximately $99K - $128K. In addition to base salary, AEP offers competitive Total Rewards including discretionary annual/long-term incentives, 401(k), pension, health insurance, vacation, educational assistance, etc.
