Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, education, organizational development, engineering, or operations management.
  • 3-5 years applying Lean Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma, and/or other CI methodologies.
  • 2 years minimum providing in-person and online teaching/education to adults in a business setting.
  • Experience with Workday Learning and software to deliver online and remote learning content.
  • LSS Green Belt certification.
  • 4-7 years relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with CI leadership to plan, create, and deliver Lean Six Sigma and other CI training.
  • Facilitate White to Black Belt training and CI Champion programs.

Position Overview:

As part of the talented Operations Excellence team, you will lead the planning, creation, and execution of Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence training programs within Mercury Marine. You will partner with leaders and employees across Brunswick to build lean thinking, problem‑solving capabilities, and a culture of continuous improvement. You will also get to design, create, update, and deliver training materials in multiple formats, including in‑person, remote, and hybrid. Additionally, you will facilitate training, coaching, and certification activities, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives that drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement results.

Essential Functions:
  • Partner with CI leadership across Brunswick to plan, create, and deliver Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and other continuous improvement methodologies at a Brunswick Blueprint standard.
  • Help facilitate, update, and deliver White Belt, Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt, and CI Champion training across the organization.
  • Mentor and support employees participating in CI certification efforts.
  • Partner with plant leadership and functional teams to identify training needs and develop CI capabilities throughout the organization.
  • Create and maintain training materials, curriculum, simulations, workshops, activities, and all other learning resources that support CI and Ops Excellences deployment.
  • Creation, development, and delivery of in-person and online/remote classwork and activities.
  • Confidence teaching on video and making content recordings on topics to provide online training opportunities to employees.
  • Ownership of WorkDay Learning course creation, tracking, development, and metrics.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through participation feedback, certification completion, and business results.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Lean Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence methodologies.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through employee engagement, coaching, recognition, and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay current on industry best practices and emerging methodologies to strengthen Mercury Marines capabilities.
  • Travel to manufacturing and business locations as needed to support training, coaching, and CI deployment activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, education, organizational development, engineering, or operations management
  • 3-5 years applying Lean Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma, and/or other CI methodologies
  • 2 years minimum providing in-person and online teaching/education to adults in a business setting
  • Experience with Workday Learning and software’s to deliver online and remote learning content.
  • LSS Green Belt certification
  • 4-7 years relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in an operations setting, but ability to support and apply CI methodologies all functional areas (sales, marketing, customer service, HR, etc.).
  • Base understanding of key business drivers (P&L, Overhead, Budget process)
  • Drive results through influence, with some direct leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt Certification
  • 5-10 years of education and teaching in manufacturing and business setting
  • Adult learning, instructional design, or organizational development experience
  • Experience facilitating multi-site education and training
  • Passion around teaching technical topics (statistics, software, analytics) and professional topics (leadership, change management, culture)
  • Extensive tactical experience in WorkDay Learning and software like Articulate used to develop online training content.
  • Advanced statistical analysis and data visualization experience
  • Use of AI toolsets for development and application of CI and training
  • Master’s degree in related fields

The hiring range for this position is $86,500 - $126,800 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary based on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
