Job summary

POM Wonderful in California is seeking a Continuous Improvement Technician to support plant improvement efforts through KPI tracking, daily management, and hands-on problem solving. You will work with operations and maintenance to implement practical improvements and sustain standard work.

The role requires Lean tools experience, 3+ years in manufacturing, and a focus on OEE and waste reduction. Occasional travel and after-hours work during peak season are possible.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in manufacturing or related industrial environment.
• Experience with Lean principles and PDCA, 5S, standard work.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with frontline staff and cross‑functional teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floor presence to observe operations and spot improvement opportunities.
• Coach frontline teams in Lean tools to close process gaps.
• Support improvements by following up and reinforcing standard work.
• Lead or support Lean initiatives using structured problem solving.
• Attend shift FMDS meetings and reinforce daily management.
• Facilitate root cause analysis using PDCA, 5 Whys and fishbone.
• Collect data, analyze trends, and report KPIs for improvements.
• Document processes and track improvement activity.
• Use process mapping to optimize forklift movement and layout.
• Occasional travel to support improvement activities.
• Occasional off-hours/weekend work for 24/7 operation.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Continuous Improvement Technician supports plant improvement efforts through KPI tracking, daily management support, and hands‑on problem solving. This role works with operations and maintenance teams to help implement practical improvements, sustain standard work, and support continuous improvement activities across the site.

Compensation - $75,000.00 - $85,000.00. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.

Job Description

• Maintain a consistent presence on the floor to observe operations, support teams, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Coach frontline teams in applying Lean tools to address process gaps and drive improvements
• Support continuous improvement efforts through follow‑up, coaching, and reinforcement of standard work.
• Lead or support improvement initiatives using Lean and structured problem‑solving methods.
• Participate in shift FMDS meetings and reinforce daily management practices.
• Facilitate root cause problem‑solving activities using PDCA, 5 whys, fishbone analysis and other lean tools.
• Support data collection, trend analysis and KPI reporting to identify operational improvement opportunities.
• Maintain process documentation and track improvement activity.
• Use process mapping and flow analysis to identify opportunities to improve forklift movement, material flow, and layout efficiency.
• Occasional regional travel as needed to support improvement activities.
• Occasional off‑hours and weekend work required to support a 24/7 operation, especially during peak season.

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, operations support, or related industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies including: PDCA
• 5S
• standard work

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with frontline employees, supervisors, and cross‑functional teams.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and manufacturing data tracking systems.
• Ability to maintain a consistent floor presence in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Supports initiatives focused on improving OEE, reducing waste, and minimizing operational losses.

Preferred

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience supporting TPM, reliability improvement, or production efficiency initiatives.
• Exposure to manufacturing KPI systems including OEE, downtime tracking, waste analysis, and productivity reporting.
• Experience with Power BI, MES, CMMS, SAP, or other manufacturing systems preferred.
• Food & Beverage manufacturing experience preferred.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in: Industrial technology, Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business or a related technical discipline.
• Equivalent combination of education, Lean training, and manufacturing experience will be considered.

Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, operations support, production supervision, maintenance coordination, or related industrial environment required.
