About The Role

Our client is a well-established leader in the natural stone and granite manufacturing industry, operating both quarry and production facilities. On their behalf, we are seeking a Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineer to assist in, support, and take a leadership role in assigned Continuous Improvement (CI) activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, Kaizen events such as Business Process Improvement, Value Stream Mapping, 2P, 3P, 5S, CI Teams, and Data Collection.

This is a hands‑on, highly collaborative role. Approximately 50% of this position's time is spent on the production floor or quarry, with the remaining 50% spent in the office. Job Description

As a Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in advancing our client's Continuous Improvement initiatives across their quarry and production operations. You will partner with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance safety, and drive efficiency using lean manufacturing principles. This position blends leadership, technical problem‑solving, and hands‑on execution, offering the opportunity to make a measurable impact on both business and manufacturing performance. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

  • Perform preparation and follow‑up work for various assigned Continuous Improvement events and activities.
  • Lead team‑based activities focused on improving the business or manufacturing process.
  • Identify and eliminate potential safety hazards and issues.
  • Develop, improve, and document manufacturing processes, standard work, and work instructions.
  • Perform time studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to improve equipment uptime and support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and statistical measures to help ensure the success of assigned projects.
  • Assist with the ongoing evaluation of techniques and methods needed to improve the overall performance of various Continuous Improvement activities and events.
  • Provide training to employees as requested in assigned Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Ensure the collection of data and information is accurate and reliable.
  • Travel to other company locations as requested to assist in the execution of CI efforts.
  • Lead quality improvement and problem‑solving activities.
  • Lead and manage small to medium Capital Expenditure (Cap‑Ex) projects.
  • Promote an environment of continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Understand current and future value streams and how they connect to improvement opportunities throughout the company.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field. Related experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Above‑average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with various computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, and MS Teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the company.
  • Ability to learn and understand lean manufacturing concepts, including Time Based Strategy, Global Production System, Kaizen methodology, and training skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing lean principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manipulate and create CAD drawings.
  • Ability to learn data analysis software, such as Tableau, and its applications.
