Job summary

Doncasters is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our Groton, CT team. You will drive a lean culture, lead Kaizen events, and support manufacturing and operations improvement initiatives to boost throughput, yield, quality and efficiency.

You will coach deployment teams, collect data, build visual tools, and manage the transformation roadmap while training staff on 5S and lean principles. A strong engineering background and change leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing environment.
• Green or Black Belt training desired.
• Kaizen participation desired.
• SolidWorks or AutoCAD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Hoshin Planning across all levels and mentor deployment teams.
• Lead Kaizen events and coach teams.
• Perform data collection and time studies.
• Build visual factory tools, dashboards and shadow boards.
• Manage the plant transformation roadmap and PM for initiatives.
• Train employees on 5S and lean principles.
• Support analytical problem solving and corrective actions.
• Plan TPM deployment and events with teams.
• Communicate opportunities for improvement and required actions.
• Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis and implement corrective actions.

TheRole:

TheContinuousImprovementManagerwillbeachangeagenttodrivetheintegrationofaleancultureinwhicheveryemployeecontributestohowworkflowsthroughtheplantwithmaximumefficiency.Thisrolewillbeassignedprojectsandtaskstosupportmanufacturingandoperationsprocessimprovementactivities.TherolewillbeasupportingfunctiontotheManufacturingandEngineeringteamstoincreasethroughput,yield,quality,efficiency,andotherkeyKPI’sandwillsupportimplementationofleanmethodologiesthroughoutthesite.

• LeadHoshinPlanningacrossalllevelsandfunctionsofthebusinessandprovidecoachingandmentoringtodeploymentteamsintheprocessanddeliveryofstrategiccontinuousimprovementinitiativesandprojects.
• LeadKaizeneventsandcoachothersonhowtoleadKaizenevents.
• Performdatacollectionandtime-studies.
• Buildvisualfactorytoolsandshopaids,shadow-boards,dashboards,floormarkings,etc.
• Managetheplant’stransformationroadmap,providingprojectmanagementforthemanyinitiativesintheroadmap.
