Job summary

Forj Medical, based in Minnesota, seeks a Continuous Improvement Engineer I to drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives across manufacturing, supply chain, and quality assurance. You will plan, execute, and sustain programs, coach teams, and deliver measurable improvements with cross-functional collaboration.

You will lead data-driven projects, establish goals, and present updates to leadership while embedding a continuous improvement culture across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field (preferred).
  • 2–5 years of experience in medical device/biotech industries with project management exposure.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data to plan and execute continuous improvement activities.
  • Establish CI goals and plans; collaborate across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance to identify opportunities.

Job Description:

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer I identifies, prioritizes, and leads initiatives to increase effectiveness and efficiency across Forj Medical's manufacturing, supply chain, and quality assurance functions. This role independently plans, executes, and sustains continuous improvement initiatives, while championing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies across the organization. The CI Engineer I drives measurable business impact by leading cross-functional projects, coaching team members, and embedding a continuous improvement culture. This role has increased ownership in strategy development, execution, and sustainment of process improvements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data to plan, organize, and execute continuous improvement activities.
  • Establish continuous improvement goals and execute plans to deliver goal achievement. Collaborate with Forj Medical Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality Assurance to identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with Forj Medical cross-functional leadership to establish and maintain a continuous improvement mindset across the organization.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives and facilitate collaboration across departments to drive alignment, remove barriers, and ensure successful execution, often without direct authority.
  • Assists Manufacturing Engineers as needed to improve manufacturing yield rates, equipment up time, and/or throughput.
  • Assists Quality Assurance Engineers as needed to address product quality issues.
  • Provide training as needed for updated processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Track continuous improvement results and prepare and present continuous improvement project updates to the Forj Medical leadership.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels and drive accountability for action items to ensure sustained improvement outcomes.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree (preferably in an engineering field) from four-year college or university
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the medical device and/or biotechnology industry Project management experience

The salary range for this position is outlined below under "Job Details" and is dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable employment laws.
