The Continuing Education Manager provides high level academic, operational, and strategic leadership for BMCC’s Information Technology Training Programs and Apprenticeships within the Center for Continuing Education and Workforce Development (CEWD). Reporting to the Director of Continuing Education and Workforce Development – Information Technology & Apprenticeship Programs, the Manager is responsible for overall department performance, including meeting tuition-based enrollment targets, revenue goals, and grant-funded outcomes.

The Manager oversees complex program operations, manages curriculum and student success systems, and serves as a senior liaison between BMCC, partners, faculty, industry stakeholders, and external organizations.

This role requires strong business acumen, data-driven decision making, project management skills, and the ability to lead multi-functional teams in a fast-paced environment delivering high-achieving results. The Manager contributes to institutional planning, student assessment, and program development while ensuring compliance with CUNY, BMCC, and funder requirements.

POSITION DETAILS:
  • Provide strategic oversight into the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of specialized Technology workforce training programs and tuition courses, with a focus on scaling enrollment and maximizing program revenue
  • Co-develop and execute recruitment, outreach, marketing, and enrollment strategies to meet or exceed enrollments in tuition courses and training programs
  • Supervise staff and ensure team accountability for achieving program recruitment, revenue, and outcome goals.
  • Monitor and manage program revenue performance, including tuition generation and alignment with annual financial goals.
  • Ensures all grant-funded programs meet contractual performance metrics, including enrollment completion, credential attainment, and job placement outcomes.
  • Manage all academic operations for students enrolled in the IT program coursework, including registration, withdrawals, grade submission, and dissemination of academic records.
  • Implement and monitor academic program development and outcomes; recommend enhancements to processes, student learning outcomes, completions, and employment success.
  • Lead the coordination of targeted academic and social emotional interventions in collaboration with additional tutoring, mid-course assessment, career counseling, and student support services.
  • Analyze student performance data, exam results, and college & career readiness indicators to inform program improvements and growth strategies
  • Lead info-sessions, open house, and design program presentations to offer potential students various career pathways in both grant and tuition courses.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between BMCC and partners, cultivating strong relationships with faculty, administrators, and external partners that support enrollment growth, stackable credentials, and employment outcomes
  • Manage communications, agendas, and follow-up across the division for regular faculty, staff, and instructors.
  • Prepare analytical, statistical, and narrative reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act on behalf of the Director when required, exercising sound judgment within institutional guidelines.
  • Manage tax levy and grant budgets, including forecasting, calendar outline, mid-year reporting, and compliance monitoring. Ensure alignment between spending and revenue and performance targets.
  • Support grant proposal development, reporting, and funder relations.
  • Lead development of student policy manuals, student agreements, and digital content on website to elevate program outreach.
  • Be a liaison between new hires and human resources on boarding efforts: create PAF’s, offer letters, and provide relevant communications.
  • Work with vendors and ensure that new vendor documentation is submitted to Central Office; act as a liaison between the Procurement Office, and potential vendors.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule, including some evenings and weekends, to support program needs.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM
  • Bachelor’s degree and six years’ related experience required.
PREFERRED
  • Master’s degree in education, public administration, technology, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of program management and supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with adult learners from underserved populations
  • Knowledge of Technology sector with understanding of industry-recognized certifications and stackable credential models.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data for program improvement.
  • Experience managing budgets, grants, or externally funded projects.
  • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience supervising professional staff and leading multi-functional teams.
  • Possession of the core competencies determined to be required at the time of hire.
  • Significant project management experience, especially with projects involving multiple partners and the use of data to track program performance.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Manages the Continuing Education Office and designs, develops, and implements instructional programs and activities, coordinating with other College support systems.

  • Oversees the general operation of the Continuing Education Office; hires and manages staff; oversees registration, payments, and other office activities

Salary range is $76,848 - $89,777; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
