Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Political Science, International Relations, Area Studies, or related field
  • 1+ year in communications, international policy, media, or program coordination
  • Strong writing, editing, and analytical abilities
  • Web and social media proficiency
  • Cross-cultural communication and diplomacy
  • Arabic language skills preferred
  • Knowledge of Israeli-Palestinian conflict history and context
  • Familiarity with SEO, CMS, and digital engagement strategies

Job description

Organization: Atlantic Council – Middle East Programs
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid; minimum 4 days/week in-office)
Salary Range: $53,000 – $59,000 annually
Type: Full-Time

The Program Assistant will support the Realign for Palestine initiative under the Middle East Programs at the Atlantic Council. This individual will handle communications, research, media coordination, event planning, scheduling, and administrative tasks to help build a dynamic, high-impact program.

This role reports to the Project Director and collaborates with the Deputy Director and internal teams. It’s ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, has strong communication skills, and a passion for justice, diplomacy, and impactful international work.

Key Responsibilities
Program & Admin Support
  • Manage scheduling, travel planning, and calendar coordination for the Project Director
  • Track expenses, manage vendor relationships, and process invoices
  • Draft and edit materials, proposals, and internal memos
  • Provide research and logistical support for events and programming
  • Coordinate across teams and stakeholders internally and externally
Communications & Digital Media
  • Manage and update the program’s website and digital presence
  • Create, publish, and analyze web content and user engagement metrics
  • Coordinate social media strategies and online community engagement
  • Align communications with the Atlantic Council’s brand and messaging
  • Monitor current events related to Israel and Palestine to inform content
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s in Political Science, International Relations, Area Studies, or related field
  • Experience: 1+ year in communications, international policy, media, or program coordination
  • Skills:
    • Project/event management
    • Excellent writing, editing, and analytical abilities
    • Web and social media proficiency
    • Time management and multitasking

  • Preferred;
