Job summary

La Rabida Children's Hospital in Chicago seeks a Continuous Quality Improvement Manager (CQIM) to design, implement, and sustain CQI processes for DCFS coaching programs. This role ensures coaching is delivered with fidelity, effectiveness and sustainability through data analysis and reporting.

You will oversee data entry, develop and maintain databases, create dashboards, and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, public administration or related field.
• Master's degree in social work, psychology, public administration or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in child welfare or related fields with program evaluation.
• Experience with quality improvement and data-driven program management.
• Experience applying implementation science and evidence-based practices is preferred.
• Superior typing and computer skills, excellent verbal and written communication, and strong organizational ability.
• Knowledge of computerized database setup and ability to multi-task.

Job description

La Rabida Children’s Hospital provides specialized, family-centered health care to children with medically complex conditions, disabilities, and chronic illness. Through expertise, compassion, and advocacy we help children and their families reach their fullest potential, regardless of their ability to pay.

Our not-for-profit hospital, licensed for 49 beds, helps transition children from neonatal or pediatric intensive care to home, by providing medical, rehabilitative and developmental care, and by training families to continue treatments and manage the necessary equipment in the home. La Rabida also provides extensive rehabilitation for those recovering from wounds or burns and treatment for exacerbations of chronic conditions.

The hospital’s enhanced pediatric patient-centered medical home provides primary care to children with complex medical conditions and their siblings. Children with medical homes elsewhere come to La Rabida for specialty services. La Rabida offers a wide range of specialty services provided to children with sickle cell disease, diabetes, and many others. Children are supported in their emotional and developmental growth, particularly in cases where such growth has been interrupted by accident or disease.

Finally, La Rabida provides forensic and treatment services for children exposed to abuse and neglect, comprehensive assessments for wards of the state, early intervention for children between 0 and 3 years of age. Care coordination services for medically complex children are also provided for those who are covered by a health plan and receive care from providers in Cook County.

Job Description

The Continuous Quality Improvement Manager (CQIM) leads efforts to design, implement, and sustain CQI processes for DCFS coaching programs. This role ensures that coaching programs are delivered with fidelity, effectiveness, and sustainability by monitoring program operations, assessing outcomes, and identifying opportunities for improvement. The CQIM does not provide coaching to staff or supervisors but serves as the expert on evaluating and improving coaching programs, ensuring alignment with the DCFS vision, Well-being goals, and implementation science principles. This includes but is not limited to: data entry, developing and maintaining databases and providing data analysis and reports.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities

• Continuous Quality Improvement Oversight (50%)
  • Develop and maintain CQI processes specific to DCFS coaching programs.
  • Monitor program implementation to ensure fidelity, quality, and consistency.
  • Analyze program data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations to leadership for program enhancement and sustainability.
• Data and Reporting Oversight (20%)
  • Collect, validate, and analyze data for coaching programs to assess program effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate program performance to leadership.
  • Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of program evaluation data.
• Partner Engagement and Collaboration (15%)
  • Collaborate with internal teams, program leaders, and external partners to support CQI activities.
  • Incorporate feedback from partners, including program participants and partners, into CQI recommendations.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships to promote program evaluation and improvement initiatives.
• Training and Capacity Building Support (10%)
  • Provide guidance to program staff on CQI principles, data interpretation, and quality improvement processes.
  • Support the integration of CQI findings into program operations and planning.
• Other Duties as Assigned (5%)

Qualifications

• Education: Required: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public administration or related field.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in social work, psychology, public administration or related field.
• Related Work Experience: Required: Minimum of 3 years of experience in child welfare or related fields, including experience providing program evaluation, quality improvement, or data-driven program management.
• Preferred: Experience applying implementation science principles, evaluating coaching or professional development programs, and working with evidence-based and evidence-informed interventions, and practices.
• Licensure/Certification: None.
• Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Must have superior typing and computer skills, excellent communicative abilities (verbal and written), and excellent organizational skills. Knowledge of psychological/social work and child welfare terminology highly desirable.
• Ability to multi-task and organize data and multiple job demands is essential.
• Must have knowledge of computerized database set up.
• Schedule: While hours are generally Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., some flexibility is required with early or late scheduling.
