Job summary

ServiceMaster Restoration Services is seeking a Contents Technician to assist customers with packing, disposal, and cleaning of items damaged by fire, water, or mold. You will document work, process paperwork, and coordinate with adjusters to ensure smooth claims handling.

This in-field role requires physical effort, clear communication, and the ability to work as part of a team. You will travel to active jobsites, follow safety guidelines, and maintain organized inventory and a safe workspace.

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to perform pack out/cleaning tasks and lift heavy objects.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain quality control standards.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Pack and load household or office items onto trucks.
• Ensure that all items are properly secured and protected during transport.
• Unload items at the destination and assist in unpacking and setting up.
• Clean and deodorize contents affected by a loss.
• Assess and catalog non-restorable contents while obtaining proper approvals from Adjusters.
• Ensure contents have been processed correctly by completing visual inspections and signing off.
• Monitor the safeguard of inventory within the company’s possession.
• Ensure the Fireline is safe, neat, and organized.
• Manipulate customers’ contents in accordance with the job scope and customers’ requests.
• Report broken or damaged goods to management, completing required documentation.
• Follow industry best practices, ensuring safeguards are being used during content manipulation.
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations
• Other duties as assigned or apparent.

Position Summary

The Contents Technician directly assist our customers with a variety of services including inventory and disposal of damaged contents, processing, packing, and cleaning of personal contents affected by fire damage, water damage, or mold. The Contents Technician must possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, have the ability to effectively utilize technology to document and submit project files and paperwork, including time and crew sheets

Skills/Qualifications

• Previous experience in restoration, or a related field is preferred.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus

Work Environment

This is an in-field position that requires frequent travel to and from active jobsites. Jobsites may contain asbestos, microbial growth, lead, or other hazardous materials; personal protective equipment or PPE will be provided.

Jobsites may or may not have electricity; expect to work in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

Physical Demands

This position will typically require the employee to stand or walk for extended periods of time and may involve heavy manual labor. Expect to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry items often for this position.
