Job summary

Wealthsimple is seeking a skilled content professional for the Investment Research Team to craft investor insights and client-facing materials. You will translate market signals into clear, advisor-ready content, leveraging AI to sharpen your writing and maintain a human-centered perspective.

You'll collaborate with the investment team and cross-functional editors to produce timely, insightful commentary that helps clients understand markets and make informed decisions.

About the Investment Research Team

The Investment Research Team is the heart of all Investment products designed by Wealthsimple. We deeply understand markets and financial securities, and develop best-in-class strategies and products that meet the needs of our expanding client base. Our expertise is equal parts analytical and strategic, both in deeply understanding how financial products and securities work, as well as building a vision for how we can apply those tools to further the financial freedom of our clients.

What you'll do

• Own our monthly investor insights - the flagship, timeless (not transactional) content that helps clients understand what matters in markets right now and why.

• Produce client-ready due diligence questionnaires and other investment materials that require both accuracy and clarity.

• Build out general advice and financial planning content for our advice hub, helping clients connect investment principles to their broader financial lives.

• Write timely, on-demand notes for wealth management clients when markets or events call for a direct, thoughtful response.

• Dive into new research and market developments with genuine curiosity, and synthesize it into insights that go beyond what AI alone can produce.

• Exercise strong editorial judgment - deciding what's worth writing about, curating signal from noise, and quickly dismissing what isn't interesting or relevant.

• Use AI tools to help polish and refine standard content, while focusing your own effort on the core thinking, structure, and argument that only a human can provide.

• Partner with the broader investment team as well as cross-functional editorial teams to stay connected to markets, client concerns, and what's top of mind for Wealthsimple's client base.

• An investment thinker first - you understand investment principles and portfolio concepts well enough to identify what's genuinely insightful, even if you're not the one building the models.

• Financially literate on the planning side - you're comfortable with financial planning concepts and can speak to clients' broader financial lives, not just markets.

• A strong writer - you can produce clear, engaging, client-ready content, and you know how to use AI to sharpen and polish your work rather than replace your thinking.

• Curious and research-driven - you love digging into new topics and staying current, and you're energized by synthesizing complex ideas into something readable.

• A confident editor - you have taste and judgment about what's worth saying, and you can structure and shape an argument, not just execute on a brief.

• Market-connected - you stay plugged into what's happening in markets and can translate that into content that feels current and relevant, not generic.

• Reliable and self-directed - you can consistently deliver high-quality content on time, without needing heavy oversight.

Nice to haves
