Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC is seeking a Trust & Safety professional to join our Incubation & Moderation hub. We tackle complex content challenges, pilot new workflows, and document playbooks for training partners.

You’ll provide structured feedback to Policy, Product, and Engineering teams while identifying emerging threats and guiding experiments in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in Trust & Safety or policy operations, with strong written/verbal communication,

Responsibilities

• Partner in Developing & Documenting Playbooks: convert experiments into scalable playbooks and training docs.
• Provide Structured Feedback: translate frontline learnings into data-driven insights for Policy, Product, and Engineering.
• Identify Emerging Threats: proactively identify patterns of abuse and provide root-cause analysis to partners.
• Contribute to Experiment Design: design and execute experiments with data analysts to validate hypotheses.

About the Team
The Trust and Safety Incubation Team is TikTok’s specialized Incubation & Moderation hub for content moderation. We are not just on the front lines; we are building the future of safety on the platform. Our mission is to pilot, test, and refine the next generation of moderation policies and tools. We tackle the most complex challenges, experiment with novel solutions, and create the playbooks that will define safety at scale for millions of users.

• Pilot & Test New Workflows: Be the first to engage with new moderation tools, review queues, and experimental policies, providing critical feedback to shape their development.
• Analyze Complex & Nuanced Content: Specialize in handling the most ambiguous, high-complexity (Tier 3) content cases to identify policy gaps, edge cases, and areas for improvement. Your insights will directly influence policy creation.
• Partner in Developing & Documenting Playbooks: Transform successful experiments into detailed, scalable playbooks and documentation that will be used to train our BPO partners.
• Provide Structured Feedback: Act as a critical feedback generator, translating front-line learnings into clear, concise, and data-driven insights for Policy, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Identify Emerging Threats: Use your unique position to proactively identify new patterns of abuse and emerging risks, providing early warnings and root-cause analysis to cross-functional partners.
• Contribute to Experiment Design: Partner with the Team Lead and data analysts to design and execute experiments (e.g., A/B tests) to validate hypotheses about moderator tooling, policy clarity, and workflow efficiency.
• Maintain Subject Matter Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the intent and evolution of TikTok’s Community Guidelines, serving as a subject matter expert for the areas you test.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in Trust & Safety, policy operations, or a related role requiring complex analytical problem-solving.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex concepts and provide structured, actionable feedback.
• Strong investigative and critical-thinking skills, with an aptitude for navigating ambiguity and making principled decisions.
• Resilience and maturity in handling complex and potentially disturbing content daily.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience reviewing digital content.
• Proven ability to adapt, respond to day-to-day challenges, and thrive in a high-tempo environment.
• Demonstrated resilience and commitment to self-care to successfully manage the emotional demands of the role.
• Experience in a BPO/call center/content moderation environment with a track record of consistently meeting company metrics placed in a scorecard
• Direct experience in process design, or an operational role focused on continuous improvement or experimentation.
• Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear, data-backed recommendations.

Trust & Safety

Content that this role interacts with includes images, video, and text related to every-day life, but it can also include (but is not limited to) bullying; hate speech; child safety; depictions of harm to self and others, and harm to animals. Hence, it is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content on a daily basis.
