UNDERSTANDING THE ROLE
We are seeking a Staff Writer to join our growing and versatile Marketing team. In this role, you’ll produce a wide range of content to engage our audiences, strengthen our brand, and support our mission. From expert advice and thought leadership articles to case studies, reports, and marketing materials, you’ll have the opportunity to shape key content that drives our business forward.
You’ll work closely across internal teams and lines of business, collaborating with subject matter experts to source, write, and refine content and will contribute to the development of strategic publications like the Philanthropy Landscape and Philanthropy Pulse Report. You’ll also support the firm's content strategy through high-quality written materials across various channels such as ads, social media posts, and emails.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Development
Write and edit diverse content types, including articles (expert advice, thought leadership, trends), case studies, research reports, white papers, infographics, marketing emails, newsletters, social media copy, and advertisements
Ghostwrite thought leadership pieces in collaboration with senior leaders and subject matter experts
Translate complex ideas into clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate narratives
Editorial Planning & Execution
Conduct research and interviews to ideate and develop timely, high-quality content
Manage key content projects, ensuring deadlines and alignment with team goals
Contribute to flagship publications, including the Philanthropic Landscape and Philanthropy Pulse Report
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with teammates in branding, events, field marketing, PR, and social media to ensure content is aligned with broader marketing efforts
Collaborate with regional client teams and departments like Business Development, Data & Analytics, Systems & Change Management, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging to source and shape content
Content Strategy & Optimization
Incorporate SEO best practices, writing with keyword intent, discoverability, and user experience in mind and balancing keyword performance with brand voice and storytelling
Stay updated on trends in fundraising, nonprofit communications, and digital storytelling
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess:
Experience: 4–6 years of professional writing experience in journalism, content marketing, strategic communications, or related fields
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related discipline
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across formats
Familiarity with content management systems, SEO fundamentals, and basic analytics
A passion for storytelling, attention to detail, and a strategic mindset

SALARY RANGE:$70,000 - $85,000
The exact salary varies within range based on years of relevant experience and education.
