This role is on‑site 5 days a week.
This role is grant funded through November 30th 2027, with possibility of extension based on available funding.

As a member of the Mecklenburg County Public Health team, you will become a subject matter expert in the public health field. As part of the Health Communications Program, this position will create, evaluate and refine internal and external messaging for all divisions/programs/teams/initiatives within Mecklenburg County Public Health.
This position works independently and is responsible for managing projects, analyzing processes and procedures, recommending necessary adjustments, and responding to requests from internal clients.
The ideal candidate will possess strong oral and written communications skills and must demonstrate proficiency in digital content management. Experience with web-based collaborative platforms, communications software, design software, and content management platforms is required.
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a related field.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.

May require a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License
May require County Driving Privileges
Knowledge of
Public health concepts and frameworks
Principles and procedures for digital content management
Structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, quality standards for services, and customer satisfaction evaluation
Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, project management, and coordination of people and resources
Local government operations
