Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to help design and launch a new line of large-scale, containerized power generation solutions for mission-critical data centers in Sidney, OH. You will own mechanical architecture, product platform, and manufacturing strategy, translating knowledge from acquired business units into scalable in-house designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of mechanical design experience in power generation, industrial equipment, modular systems, or related industries.
• Experience with 3D CAD software and ability to develop engineering documentation and manufacturing drawings.
• Knowledge of structural design, sheet metal fabrication, welded assemblies, airflow/ventilation, thermal management, and mechanical packaging.

Responsibilities

• Design containerized and modular power generation solutions for data center backup and prime power.
• Develop 3D models, detailed drawings, assemblies, fabrication packages, and engineering documentation using CAD software.
• Design and integrate enclosures, power modules, structural supports, fuel systems, air intake and exhaust, cooling, acoustic attenuation, and service access.
• Perform engineering calculations related to structural integrity, airflow, cooling performance, vibration, noise attenuation, and equipment support.
