Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Container Welder/Fabricator to repair, weld, fabricate and paint containers and roll-off boxes. You will weld steel and aluminum using MIG/ARC, fabricate components, cut with plasma torch, install lids and wheels, and perform routine maintenance.

The role requires a certified welder with knowledge of MIG, stick welding, plasma cutter, and hand tools. Minimum 1 year welding experience or completion of a welding program.

Qualifications

Certified welder.
Advanced knowledge of mig & stick welders, plasma cutter, and airless paint sprayers. Familiar with basic use of hand tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to follow directions with minimal supervisory involvement.

Responsibilities

Repairs and maintains front, rear and roll-off containers.
Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and ARC welding equipment.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Container Welder/ Fabricator repairs, paints and performs maintenance to containers and roll-off boxes.

Principal Responsibilities

Performs repairs and maintenance on front, rear and roll-off containers
Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and ARC welding Equipment.
Fabricates steel components using a brake and shear.
Cuts steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
Fabricates steel components for hoppers, containers and compactors.
Installs lids and wheels on containers.
Paints repaired containers.
Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Completes required paperwork.
Install company and safety decals in accordance with company standard diagram on containers and roll-off boxes.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Refer more complex repairs to the Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 1 year welding experience OR COMPLETION OF A WELDING PROGRAM.

Shift: 6am start/ rotating weekends and holidays

Hourly Rate: $35-$41.50

Sustainability Innovation

The Republic Services Polymer Center is the nation’s first integrated plastics recycling facility. These innovative sites process rigid plastics from our recycling centers, producing recycled materials that promote true bottle-to-bottle circularity. We also formed Blue Polymers, a joint venture with Ravago, to develop facilities that will further process plastic material from our Polymer Centers to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging. We are building a network of Polymer Centers and Blue Polymer facilities across North America.

Our customers are increasingly looking for decarbonization solutions, and we are leveraging our network of landfills to meet that need.
