Job summary

ConGlobal in Oakland, CA is hiring skilled and reliable Container Repair / Maintenance Technicians to join our depot teams. This role involves hands-on maintenance and repair of shipping containers and chassis, ensuring safety and operational standards are met.

Starting pay ranges from $27.76/hour for Apprentices to $33.00/hour for Journeymen, with open availability and full-time schedules including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in chassis/trailer/container repair and maintenance.
• Basic welding skills preferred but not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must have basic set of hand tools.
• Must pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on shipping containers
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed
• Follow safety procedures and comply with industry standards
• Work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Select appropriate materials to repair/weld equipment
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components together for welding
• Bolt, clamp, tack-weld, or fasten parts to secure for welding and/or repair
• Set up equipment and welds parts, using appropriate welding equipment
• Assist with general repair duties and depot maintenance as required
• Work with sheet metal fabrication
• Other duties as assigned
