Job summary

Lakeshore Recycling Systems is seeking a Container Delivery Driver to safely deliver and remove waste and recycling carts and bins for customers. The role requires physical strength, map-reading ability, and working with a manual transmission truck. You will interact with customers and maintain logs and documentation.

Hours and workload may vary by route; overtime, weekends, and weather conditions are common. A positive, professional demeanor is essential for excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Physical exertion is required (lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling carts/bins)
• Ability to read and understand a map
• Ability to drive a truck with a manual transmission
• General knowledge of mechanics of trucks
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with customers
• Additional skills may be required for specific locations or lines of business

• Perform delivery and/or removal of waste or recycling carts and/or bins to customers
• Complete proper documentation on deliveries and removals
• Maintain and update work orders
• Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and complete logs
• Maintain and update drivers logs
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers
• May assist in other projects and areas as needed
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and good relationships with customers, clients, coworkers, and management
• Other duties, as assigned

Job description

The Container Delivery Driver is responsible for the delivery and/or removal of waste or recycling carts and/or bins to customers. This position routinely requires physical exertion (lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling carts and/or bins) and entering/exiting the truck. Delivery drivers must be able to safely operate the vehicle, as well as provide courteous service to customers. The hours and physical demand may vary by route or area.

Residential Supervisor

• Operate truck and perform job duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
• Perform delivery and/or removal of waste or recycling carts and/or bins to customers
• Complete proper documentation on deliveries and removals
• Maintain and update work orders
• Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and completes logs
• Maintain and update drivers log sheets
• Professional interaction with internal and external customers
• May assist in other projects and areas, as needed
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
• Other duties, as assigned
