South Coastal Counties Legal Services, Inc. (SCCLS) seeks a Consumer Staff Attorney to join its Consumer Unit in Brockton, MA.

The role focuses on protecting consumers from exploitation and pursuing remedies through litigation, advocacy, and direct client assistance. The Consumer Unit handles matters under Chapter 93A, foreclosure prevention, bankruptcy litigation, debt collection defenses, and other consumer protections.

Qualifications

• Admitted to MA or eligible for admission in MA to practice civil litigation.
• Minimum five years of litigation experience handling state and/or federal matters.
• Experience in consumer law and foreclosure prevention preferred.
• Commitment to diverse communities and client-centered advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality zealous legal representation, counsel and/or referrals.
• Participate in, or conduct, community education and outreach.
• Participate in team meetings; identify and participate in impact advocacy projects.
• Engage in continuous learning in consumer law.
• Participate in other program activities to further organizational goals and mission.
