The Consumer Lending Specialist I role is primarily responsible for owning the Onboarding Lending Experience for our Members. Responsibilities include the delivery of a seamless, Member-focused lending experience by handling inbound consumer loan requests via phone and online channels. This role plays a key part in verifying applications, clarifying Members’ needs and providing them with a detailed overview of the lending process. Responsibilities include adhering to lending policies and procedures, assisting Members with loan-related needs, and providing support or problem-solving through digital channels. This role also focuses on meeting and exceeding sales and loan goals while championing Mazuma’s culture and core values.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a banking or finance related role
High school diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situations. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer, tablet, telephone, copier, facsimile, printer, scanner, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise.
