Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL seeks a patient access professional to perform Medicare compliance reviews and manage patient financial responsibilities. You will coordinate pre-authorizations, verify insurance, and register patients for services with precision.

The role requires strong judgement, computer literacy, and professional communication to support a seamless patient experience. Training and benefits begin on day one, with a focus on accurate financial stewardship.

Qualifications

• Must be able to exercise mature judgement when dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance reps.
• Proficient with Microsoft programs; familiarity with database software.
• Able to operate general office machines (computer, fax, printer, scanner).
• Capable of learning and performing multiple tasks; organize work efficiently.
• Effective written and verbal communication with colleagues and patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as needed.
• Creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments or establishes payment plans.
• Coordinates with utilization management staff for pre-authorization issues and ensures patients have necessary logistical information.
• Contacts insurance companies to verify eligibility and benefits, and obtains pre-authorizations within established timeframes.
• Registers patients for all services, ensuring accuracy and minimizing duplication of medical records.
