ERM in Charlotte, NC seeks a Consulting Senior Associate, Geology to investigate and remediate contaminated sites, support compliance, and develop sustainable remediation strategies for diverse clients.

Ideal candidates will have a geology-related degree, 1+ years of field experience, and a strong safety mindset. Travel to client sites across a wide area is common, with opportunities to advance toward professional registration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, engineering, environmental science, or related discipline (Master's a plus).
• GPA of 3.0 or higher or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to perform field work (standing/walking full days).
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to Health & Safety protocols.
• Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to travel to client locations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field investigations: soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, soil vapor, and indoor air sampling.
• Oversee drilling, soil logging, and installation of monitoring wells.
• Perform aquifer testing, well development, and remedial system operations.
• Assist with groundwater and wastewater system performance monitoring.
• Support Phase I and II environmental assessments for property transactions.
• Compile and analyze data; assist in preparing technical reports.
• Prepare compliance work plans, permits, and reports for air quality, hazardous waste, stormwater, and wastewater.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.

What You'll Bring

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, engineering, environmental science, or related discipline (Master's a plus).

Preferred:

• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
• GIT or EIT certification.
• Experience with technical data recording and report writing.
• Local candidates preferred; regional candidates considered.
