Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consulting Associate, Environmental Due Diligence, to deliver EHS and ESG due diligence for complex, multi-site portfolios across local, national, and global markets. You will identify liabilities, risks, and opportunities that influence strategic decisions and support compliance and operational excellence during transactions.

You will join a hybrid role with locations in Houston, Denver, or Syracuse, and may work with cross-region teams while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Admin, or related field (or 6+ years of experience).
• 0–2+ years in environmental consulting with exposure to due diligence projects.
• Solid knowledge of ASTM Phase I standards.
• Strong written reporting and communication skills; ability to multi-task and travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform EHS and ESG due diligence for multi-national clients.
• Manage multi-person teams across regions.
• Conduct assessments aligned with ASTM Phase I and global protocols.
• Prepare detailed reports on environmental liability and compliance.

What You'll Bring

Required

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or 6+ years equivalent experience).
• 0-2+ years in environmental consulting with exposure to due diligence projects.
• Solid knowledge of ASTM Phase I standards and understanding of business/legal concepts in transactions.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to write comprehensive technical reports.
• Flexibility to multi-task, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred

• Industry experience in Energy, Manufacturing, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Infrastructure, Transportation, or Retail sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform EHS and ESG due diligence projects for multi-national clients, managing multi-person teams across regions.
• Conduct assessments aligned with ASTM Phase I and global protocols, including compliance reviews.
• Prepare detailed reports assessing environmental liability risks and operational compliance at industrial facilities.
• Collaborate with project managers to identify risks and opportunities in transactions.
• Communicate effectively with clients, ERM teams, and vendors to ensure project success.
• Deliver projects within scope, budget, and schedule while maintaining ERM's quality standards.

Salary & Benefits

For the Consulting Associate, Environmental Due Diligence position, the anticipated annual base pay is $74,000-$95,293 (USD) . Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
