Job summary

ERM seeks a Consulting Associate, Engineer in Charleston, WV to support environmental inspections and civil engineering design for energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing projects. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, or related engineering field is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Internship or professional experience in civil/environmental engineering is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil3D, GIS, or stormwater modeling software is desirable.

  • Assist with civil and environmental engineering design deliverables, including site plans and stormwater management plans.

What Your Impact Is

Support environmental inspection and compliance activities for major energy infrastructure projects. Contribute to civil and environmental engineering designs that improve stormwater management, erosion control, and site remediation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, scientists, biologists, and engineers, to solve complex project challenges. Help clients navigate regulatory requirements while advancing environmental stewardship and sustainability goals. Support the successful delivery of projects that balance business objectives, environmental responsibility, and community impact.

What You'll Bring

Required Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, or related engineering field, or equivalent experience. Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with project managers, technical teams, and clients. Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Preferred Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or FE exam registration. Internship or professional experience in civil/environmental engineering. Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil3D, GIS, or stormwater modeling software (training available). Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate reports and engineering designs.
