The role will provide additional capacity and resilience across Base Commissions, Profit Share, OCP/EGP, and related compensation plans, including the transition of NWAG Profit Share from Finance.

The role is designed to absorb growing and newly transitioned work, strengthen co-plan ownership and backup coverage, reduce concentration of complex work among existing plan owners, and support accurate and timely compensation outcomes during recurring and peak processing periods.

Role-specific responsibilities
  • Serve as the Plan Owner for NWAG Profit Share as the plan transitions from Finance, including learning the existing process, documenting requirements and controls, stabilizing administration, and establishing sustainable co-owner and backup coverage.

  • Support ownership and co-ownership of complex Standard Variable and Base Compensation plans, including Base Commissions, Commercial Line Profit Share, Surety Profit Share, CL MM OCP, and related OCP/EGP work, based on the approved plan-owner alignment.

  • Provide additional validation and processing capacity for plans with high payment impact, complex calculations, multiple lines of business, or significant stakeholder visibility.

  • Learn and apply the business rules, system workflows, data dependencies, timing requirements, and historical context associated with assigned plans.

  • Perform complex calculations, data preparation, reconciliation, validation, and quality review using advanced Excel and other applicable tools.

  • Analyze plan results, identify discrepancies or unusual trends, determine root cause, and recommend corrective action before payments or results are finalized.

  • Participate in UAT, requirements clarification, defect research, and issue resolution for assigned plans and related technology changes.

  • Coordinate with plan owners, co-plan owners, backups, Compensation Design, Technology/IT, Finance, Business Insights, and business partners to resolve issues and maintain processing continuity.

  • Support the transition of appropriate recurring reporting to Business Insights while retaining the ability to produce ad hoc analysis and reporting needed for plan administration, validation, issue resolution, and commission-impact analysis.

  • Contribute to documentation, process standardization, knowledge transfer, and cross-training to reduce key-person dependency and improve plan resilience.

  • Establish and maintain clear ownership, co-ownership, backup, and escalation expectations for assigned plans.

  • Support peak-period capacity planning and flex across Standard Variable and Base Compensation work as demand, timing, and priorities change.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or improve recurring calculations, validation, reporting, and documentation activities.

  • Contribute to continuous-improvement initiatives and recommend practical improvements that reduce manual effort, rework, operational risk, or processing time.

  • Participate in stakeholder communications and provide clear status, risks, decisions needed, and next steps for assigned work.

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Initial scope and expected placement

The role is expected to report to the Manager, Process Management and operate primarily within the Standard Variable and Base Compensation POD.

Initial work is expected to include:

  • NWAG Profit Share ownership following the Q4 transition from Finance

  • Base Commissions co-ownership and expanded backup depth

  • Commercial Line Profit Share co-ownership or ownership transition, as determined through onboarding and capacity planning

  • CL MM OCP ownership as the plan matures

  • Surety Profit Share co-ownership and related coverage

  • Additional support for OCP/EGP and other complex Standard Variable Compensation work during peak processing periods

The final plan-owner, co-plan-owner, and backup assignments will be maintained in the approved plan-owner documentation and may evolve as training, capacity, and business demand change.

Required capabilities and experience

  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to understand and administer complex compensation rules across multiple lines of business and processing cycles.

  • Ability to investigate discrepancies, interpret data, identify root causes, and make sound recommendations.

  • Ability to participate effectively in UAT, requirements discussions, defect investigation, and technology change activities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex compensation results and risks to nontechnical partners.

  • Ability to manage judgment-heavy, high-accuracy work under recurring and peak-season deadlines.

  • Ability to work across teams and build effective relationships with Compensation Design, Technology/IT, Finance, Business Insights, and business partners.

  • Willingness and ability to document processes, develop backup capability, and transfer knowledge to others.

  • Data Analytics certification is required for new team members, consistent with the team's evolving technical capability expectations.

  • Experience administering or analyzing variable compensation, profit share, commissions, or other complex financial calculations.

  • Experience with SAP, SQL, macros, Power BI, Power Automate, or similar data and automation tools.
