Overview

BRG’s Financial Institution Advisory practice specializes in helping commercial banks, consumer finance companies, credit unions, mortgage banks, capital market participants, and insurance companies solve pressing business issues. The team includes functional experts such as CPAs, CFAs, CROs, CRCMs, FRMs, former regulators, financial modelers, technologists, former bankers, and seasoned consultants. We are looking for highly energetic, junior‑level financial professionals eager to build on experience in the banking industry.

Responsibilities
  • Use analytical ability and strong organizational skills to solve complex problems.
  • Execute and oversee engagement workstreams that may be qualitative or quantitative.
  • Conduct business process reviews, current‑state assessments, and develop roadmaps to improve operations, compliance, or controls.
  • Assist clients with technology enablement and dashboard reporting.
  • Perform financial and accounting reviews, design statistical and financial analysis, and model financial data and markets.
  • Maintain quality control and develop client deliverables.
  • Manage existing client relationships and assist with new business development.
  • Work directly with senior professionals on projects related to credit risk, valuation, capital planning, stress testing, liquidity, resolution planning, and model risk management.
  • Engage in data‑intensive projects involving analytics, governance, and manipulation to support financial risk initiatives.
  • Plan and manage all aspects of client engagements and delegate assignments to staff.
  • Review work product for completeness and accuracy; develop analyses and financial models.
  • Generate client deliverables, communicate results, and contribute to expert reports.
  • Participate in practice meetings, business development initiatives, and office functions such as staff training and recruiting.
  • Prioritize assignments and meet goals and deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; a combined bachelor’s and master’s degree or a five‑year accelerated program is highly preferred.
  • Two to four years of relevant experience in an accounting or BigFour consulting firm, focusing on audit, forensics, or dispute matters.
  • CPA designation or documented progress toward obtaining a CPA.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with PowerPoint presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial statements, and how debit/credit flows impact the cash‑flow, income, balance, and trial balance.
  • Experience with financial services in a consulting environment is preferred.
  • Ability to train others to use analytical and office tools.
  • Proven capability with MSExcel and statistical programming (R, SAS, Python, or SQL) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with risk and control assessments, process mapping, consumer regulation compliance, business process remediation, financial risk management, and quantitative analytics.
  • Familiarity with AML/BSA/KYC/OFAC, BCBS239, capital planning, stress testing, and capital markets compliance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a desire to work within a team environment.
  • Travel to client sites on demand is required.
  • Legal right to work in the U.S.; no company sponsorship is provided.
Compensation

Salary: $100,000 – $145,000 per year. Title and compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
