Job description

About Avalere Health

United by one profound purpose: to reach EVERY PATIENT POSSIBLE. At Avalere Health, we ensure every patient is identified, treated, supported, and cared for. Equally. Our Advisory, Medical, and Marketing teams come together – powerfully and intentionally – to forge unconventional connections, building a future where healthcare is not a barrier and no patient is left behind.

Achieving our mission starts with providing enriching, purpose-driven careers for our team that empower them to make a tangible impact on patient lives. We are committed to creating a culture where our employees are empowered to bring their whole selves to work and tap into the power of diverse backgrounds and skillsets to play a part in making a difference for every patient, everywhere.

Our flexible approach to working allows our global teams to decide where they want to work, whether in-office or at home based on team and client need. Major city hubs in London, Manchester, Washington, D.C., and New York, and smaller offices globally, serve as collaboration hubs allowing our teams to come together when it matters. Homeworkers are equally supported, with dedicated social opportunities and resources.

Our inclusive culture is at the heart of everything we do. We proudly support our employees in bringing their whole selves to work with our six Employee Network Groups – Diverse Ability, Family, Gender, LGBTQ+, Mental Health, and Race/Ethnicity. These groups provide opportunities to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion and to connect, learn, and socialise through regular meetings and programs of activity. We are an accredited Fertility Friendly employer with our Fertility Policy, enhanced parental leave, and culture of flexibility ensuring every employee feels supported across their family planning journey and can work in a way that suits their family’s needs.

We are deeply invested in supporting professional growth for our employees through day-to-day career experiences, access to thousands of on-demand training sessions, regular career conversations, and the opportunity for global, cross-capability career moves.

We take pride in being part of the Disability Confident Scheme. This helps make sure you can be interviewed fairly if you have a disability, long term health condition, or are neurodiverse. If you'd like to apply and need adjustments made, you can let us know in your application.

About the role

Avalere Health is seeking a Consultant with experience in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), real world evidence (RWE) generation, and/or real-world data analytics to join our Evidence & Strategy practice.

You will manage and conduct RWE and HEOR studies, provide research support (including development of study protocol, technical reports, statistical analysis plans, manuscripts, abstracts, etc.), interpret quantitative and qualitative study results and convey the results in lay English to a variety of audiences. A background in healthcare research consulting is preferred.

About the Evidence & Strategy Practice

Avalere Health is a vibrant community of innovative thinkers dedicated to solving the challenges of the healthcare industry. We dig deep into the healthcare system and work closely with clients to develop practical solutions. At Avalere Health, we prize curiosity, resilience, a positive attitude, and an enthusiasm to embrace new challenges. Join us and get ready to make your mark on healthcare!

Avalere’s Evidence & Strategy practice provides exceptional consultation, evidence, and insights on key aspects of healthcare – including patient-centric HEOR, US real world evidence (RWE) studies leveraging claims, EHR, and other data sources, data optimization, quality, shared decision‑making, value‑based care, and health equity – and to shape strategy for our clients.

Our mission is to improve quality of care, craft data‑driven strategies, drive patient‑centric outcomes, and ultimately provide the highest value to all our partners, including life sciences companies, payers, providers, and patient advocates. Our work is focused in 3 intersecting strategic pillars: Patient‑Centric Value, Evidence & Analytics, and Healthcare Strategy.

What you’ll do
  • Apply statistical, epidemiological, and/or econometric expertise to research and client deliverables

  • Collaborate with programmers, statisticians, and other researchers to analyze large US healthcare datasets (e.g., patient or claims data) to uncover insights and inform strategy

  • Create compelling, client‑ready presentations and reports that tell a clear and engaging story

  • Contribute to scientific publications, conference materials, and thought leadership

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes for clients

  • Take ownership of multiple project workstreams, managing budgets, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication with minimal oversight

  • Lead and contribute to client meetings, presenting deliverables and shaping next steps

  • Support day‑to‑day client engagement, helping to manage expectations and deliver high‑quality outcomes

  • Support business development through proposals, contributing to scopes of work, and identifying opportunities for growth within client accounts

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to support the development of junior team members

  • Develop subject matter expertise and contribute as a trusted resource internally and externally

  • Stay up to date with US healthcare trends to bring fresh, relevant perspectives to your work

About you

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years’ consulting, healthcare, or pharmaceutical/device industry work experience.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with US healthcare data (claims or EHR data highly valued)

  • Experience in HEOR and/or RWE is essential, particularly with observational studies and secondary data sources such as claims, EHR, real‑world data, or other observational datasets. Experience managing these studies and engaging directly with clients is also highly valued.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality work to tight deadlines.

  • A collaborative mindset and confidence working in cross‑functional teams.

  • A proactive, curious approach with a passion for improving healthcare outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications
