Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of related experience in roles such as Contracts Analyst or Legal/Paralegal, preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, contract drafting, communication skills, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Must be a quick learner and possess excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to perform with a degree of independence and accountability.
  • Strong analytical and organization skills.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated industries preferred.

  • Review contracts for adherence to standard business terms.
  • Collect and document key contracting inputs from cross‑functional teams.
  • Review, analyze and redline customer contract documents to align with OptiFreight language.
  • Coordinate stakeholder review and approval for contract redlines; escalate issues.
  • Initiate implementation activities for fully executed contracts and support sales teams with custom language.

Job description

What Customer Contract Administration contributes to Cardinal Health

As a Consultant (Contract Administrator) within Sales Operations, you will support our OptiFreight business contracts and customers through the execution of related contracting activities. You will partner with our Legal, Sales, Finance and Cross‑functional Teams, to review and carry out the strategy associated with the business, while ensuring compliance and process maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • This role will be responsible for the coordination and administration of Customer contract terms and conditions, contract activations, as well as all related contracting activities.
  • Primary Point of Contact (Contract Administrator) for standard OptiFreight contracts and routine contract related questions
  • Draft contracts in Apttus using OptiFreight templates
  • Review all contracts for adherence to standard business terms
  • Collect and document key contracting inputs and requirements from cross‑functional teams and stakeholders [Sales, Product Marketing, Finance, other]
  • Review, analyze and redline customer contract documents to align with OptiFreight preferred legal language
  • Review customer redlines against OptiFreight terms and conditions playbook
  • Evaluate non‑standard contract terms and report to the Manager, Customer Contract Administration with preliminary analysis and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate stakeholder review and approval for contract redlines, escalating unresolved issues to the Manager, Customer Contract Administration
  • Initiate implementation activities for all fully executed contracts (e.g., send price load direction to pricing services)
  • Assist the sales teams with the development of custom/unique contract language
  • Support customer‑facing discussions as needed to address routine contracting questions and explain Optifreight requirements
  • Support the development and maintenance of contract‑related dashboards and reporting for key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of contract templates, clause libraries, playbooks, and standard operating procedures under the direction of the Manager, Customer Contract Administration.
  • Track, compile, and analyze data on contracting trends, approval bottlenecks, redline frequency, and turnaround times to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist with the training and onboarding of internal stakeholders on contracting processes, systems, and best practices.
  • Create and maintain job aids, process documentation, and training materials.
  • Communicate business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
  • Your activities may include, but are not limited to the following: CLM (Salesforce/Apttus/Conga) Proficiency SME for OptiFreight Contracts and Bids

  • Ability to manage high volumes and effectively balance workload.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, are required.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and have strong communication skills for all levels of interaction.
  • Must have good presentation skills.
  • The capacity to work in a team environment and manage projects accordingly.
  • Experience in contracting processes and CLM (contract lifecycle management) systems knowledge.
  • Aptitude to implement improvements.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated industries preferred.
