Job description

About you

Do you have a passion for the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry?

Do you want to work across a mix of strategy consulting projects that draw from competitor, customer, medical and commercial insights?

Are you a highly motivated professional interested in being part of a dynamic team of self-starters, working with global healthcare and pharmaceutical clients across the full product life cycle?

If so, consider turning your expertise into a valuable career at Prescient. We're particularly keen to hear from candidates with therapeutic area expertise in cardiovascular, renal and metabolic (CVRM) diseases, immunology or infectious diseases.

About Our Competitive Strategy Practice

Prescient has three core practices: Commercial, Medical and Competitive Strategy. We deliver best-in-class biopharmaceutical intelligence, acting as a thought partner to top biopharma organizations around the world. Our offerings are designed to anticipate and respond to competitive risk across the product life cycle – from early pipeline through post-launch – delivering timely insights and strategic implications that enable integrated decision making across competitive intelligence, marketing, and medical and commercial functions.

When you join this exciting venture, you will work with global healthcare and pharmaceutical clients across the full product life cycle, from discovery to loss of exclusivity, to help them unlock the full potential of their brands and portfolios.

About the Opportunity – Consultant

You will be part of a fast-growing, PE-backed business that enables motivated, high-performing individuals to make an impact and contribute to the company’s growth. In this role, you will apply your therapeutic, clinical and commercial understanding to support the development and commercialization strategies of our clients’ assets and portfolios. You will help project teams generate insight-led recommendations that enable leaders at top biopharma companies to “see around the corner” and make confident, well-informed business decisions.

You will need strong analytical, communication and project management skills, as you will work closely with Senior Consultants, Engagement Managers, Directors and our global analysis team to deliver high-quality strategic work effectively and efficiently. You will take ownership of defined workstreams and contribute to shaping the story, structuring analysis, and ensuring the clarity and robustness of outputs.

You will bring an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented mindset to your work, supporting the client, the business and your project team. Over time, you will build your client-facing presence and develop into a credible strategic partner to client stakeholders, with guidance from Senior Consultants and senior Prescient leaders.

As many clients are based in the US, this role requires a solid understanding of the evolving US biopharmaceutical landscape and key market trends, and an eagerness to deepen this knowledge continually.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Delivery: Contribute to the design and execution of projects that address clients’ strategic business questions, ensuring your analyses, deliverables and insights meet high standards of quality and client satisfaction
  • Account Support: Support account teams by spotting opportunities to add value through project delivery, building strong working relationships with day-to-day client contacts and helping strengthen Prescient’s presence within existing accounts
  • Business Development Support: Support proposal development through background research and input into scoping discussions
  • Project Management: Own discrete workstreams and support day-to-day project activities, including research, evidence collection, data analysis, synthesis of insights, and preparation of client presentations and reports, with direct client interaction where appropriate
  • Client Management: Participate in client meetings, present findings from your workstreams where appropriate and collaborate with project leadership to ensure clients experience best-in-class service
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Apply and deepen your expertise in therapeutic, clinical and commercial areas relevant to client engagements; share emerging insights with the team, and support Analysts in understanding key scientific and commercial concepts with a particular focus on CVRM, immunology or infectious diseases.
  • Conference Support: Attend relevant conferences where appropriate to gather insights, engage with experts, and support the team in capturing and synthesizing key learnings from presentations, posters and booths
  • Team Development: Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting Analysts and Senior Analysts, offering guidance on research and analytical approaches and helping maintain a high standard of structured, impactful insights
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Relevant experience within biopharmaceutical consulting, competitive intelligence, healthcare strategy or a related client-services environment; CI experience is preferred
  • Therapeutic area experience in CVRM, immunology or infectious diseases, gained through consulting, competitive intelligence, industry or academic work.
  • Strong results orientation, demonstrated by:
    • Consistently producing high-quality deliverables and contributing effectively to project outcomes
    • Building effective working relationships with clients and project teams through clear communication and reliable delivery
  • Solid foundational knowledge of the biopharmaceutical industry, especially clinical development
  • Clear and confident communication skills, enabling effective interaction with clients and internal teams, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to strategic discussions with guidance from senior colleagues
  • Strong learning agility to adapt to rapid change and new situations
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in simple terms
  • Ability to give and receive feedback
  • BA/BS required; an advanced life science degree is preferred
What We Offer
  • A competitive base salary plus an extensive benefits package
  • A strong values-based culture that is actively lived and promoted
  • A team made up of smart and supportive people
  • Leaders who are accessible and listen, ambitious for our teams, and committed to coaching and sharing their expertise
  • An environment where our thinking and work are innovative, imaginative and bright
  • Ongoing and tailored career development that challenges you and is based on your ambition, abilities and interests – not boxes
