Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a Construction Inspector for Welding/Coating to oversee federal construction sites in Buffalo, NY, with duties spanning welding, coating, and bolting inspections. The role requires compliance reporting, quality assurance, and collaboration with government personnel.

Candidates should have AWS CWI, ASNT NDT credentials, and coatings inspection training, with a strong emphasis on safety and three-phase QC processes.

Qualifications

• High School graduate with 5 years welding inspection and 2 years coating/bolting inspection experience.
• AWS CWI per QC1 with 5+ years in steel fabrication.
• ASNT-qualified NDT personnel.
• NACE Level I or SSPC Inspector Level 1+ with coating test experience.
• AASHTO G4.2 bolting inspector certification preferred.
• Three-Phase QC/Inspection process experience.
• US citizenship and ability to pass background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Observe, inspect, and report on federal construction projects for compliance with plans and specs.
• Perform welding inspections related to steel fabrication.
• Follow shop practices: storage, handling, cutting, bending, machining, fit-up, surface prep, welding, bolting, erection and coatings.
• Perform coating inspections and testing of coating systems and methods.
• Perform structural bolting inspections and testing of bolting methods.
• Provide recommendations to government personnel regarding contract plans and specs.
• Monitor contractor quality system and administer three-phase inspection.
• Provide site surveillance and assist owner in problem resolution.
• Review and deliver change orders, modifications, RFIs, and submittals.
• Review QA and safety plans to ensure contractor adherence.
