Job summary

Climate Pros is seeking a Start-Up Technician in Houston to expertly install, start up, troubleshoot, and service supermarket refrigeration systems including display cases and walk‑in boxes. You will perform pre‑start prep, leak checks, and commissioning with emphasis on safety and customer satisfaction.

The role requires 7+ years in supermarket refrigeration, EPA certification, and a valid driver’s license. Flexibility for overtime and travel to job sites is expected in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Universal EPA Certification required.
• 7+ years of supermarket refrigeration/freezer experience.
• Experience with energy management controls (Novar, CPC, Danfoss, Micro‑Thermo, RDM).
• Must possess valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, start‑up, troubleshoot and repair refrigeration systems in supermarkets.
• Perform pre-start prep, pressure tests, evacuation, commissioning and leak detection.
• Provide professional workmanship and project oversight.
• Communicate issues with leadership or customers and own resolutions.
• Maintain clean, organized truck and professional appearance.
• Document detailed notes and photos in dispatches.
• Adhere to safety, environmental and project rules.
• Support other related duties as required.
• Observe all company policies and procedures.

Job Description

The Start-Up Technician will provide expert, journeyman-level work in the installation, start‑up, troubleshooting, diagnosis, fine‑tuning, and repair of refrigeration electrical, mechanical, and microprocessor control systems commonly installed in supermarkets and single systems, parallel racks systems, display cases and walk‑in boxes. The technician will perform pre‑start prep, pressure tests, evacuation, start‑up, commissioning, leak detection procedures, and service calls resulting in 100% customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide knowledgeable and professional workmanship and project oversight.
• Communicate issues with leadership or customers and take ownership of resolutions.
• Maintain high‑quality customer service and care.
• Provide timely and quality operational hand‑off and commissioning.
• Provide detailed notes and pictures in all dispatches assigned.
• Follow company policy on all check‑in and checkout procedures with all customers.
• Keep a clean, organized truck and professional appearance.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
• Responsible for observing and complying with all safety, environmental, government compliance, and project rules.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to stand; walk; climb; carry; bend; kneel; reach; push; pull and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; noise level is medium/low.
