Job Description: Entry Level Network Construction Technician

This entry-level position offers training and involves responsibilities across all types of network construction, including aerial, underground, and MDU. The role supports the construction organization in daily tasks and aims to enhance the customer experience.

1. Assist with moving, securing, loading/unloading cable equipment, tools, and materials as directed.
2. Dig, fill, and restore holes and trenches; bury conduit and cables.
3. Pull lasher, strand, and cable between poles.
4. Perform traffic control and flagging when necessary.
5. Adhere to industry-specific local, state, and federal regulations.
6. Follow procedures and specifications for aerial, underground, MDU, and contractor work.
7. Understand and comply with safety standards and operate and maintain crew vehicles.
8. Support understanding of Charter’s strand routing, design maps, and construction materials.
9. Maintain cleanliness of the work premises and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

• Good vision, including peripheral and color differentiation.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Climb poles using gaffs, hooks, and belts (up to 350 pounds weight limit).
• Work in confined spaces, outdoors, and in various weather conditions.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with computer systems and documentation.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; training provided for entry level.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory record.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

• Ability to obtain necessary licenses for installation and service.
• Basic math and electronic testing knowledge.
• Possession or ability to obtain CDL.
• Proficiency with computers and software applications.
