Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a Construction Technician for Starbase Infrastructure to build, maintain, and improve industrial facilities and civil infrastructure on site. Responsibilities include framing, concrete work, electrical/plumbing awareness, and operating heavy equipment under safety guidelines.

This role requires at least a high school diploma and 1+ years in commercial or civil construction, with the ability to read schematics and work physically in outdoor environments; a valid driver’s license

• Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed schematics, drawings/blueprints, and instructions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Frame walls, floors, stairs, platforms, concrete forms, and other industrial structures.
• Construct and support various MEP projects.
• Use equipment to perform earthwork, demolition, site clearing, and cleanup.
• Operate hand and measurement tools and manual equipment (saws, squares, shovels, etc.).
• Support site civil and outdoor infrastructure projects.
• Layout, installation, repair, finishing, and maintenance of structures, fixtures, and buildings.
• Basic concrete work and repair on slabs, pads, curbs, and site walkways
• Operate forklifts, boom lifts, and other heavy equipment.
• Adhere to proper safety guidelines at all times.
• Keep tools, materials, and equipment in working condition.
• Advise in the selection of building materials; requisition building materials and supplies.
• Transport various heavy materials in vehicles.

CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN, STARBASE INFRASTRUCTURE

Starbase is expanding its site infrastructure to support ongoing operations and growth. We are seeking technicians to help build, maintain, and improve industrial facilities, utilities, and civil infrastructure across the site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Frame walls, floors, stairs, platforms, concrete forms, and other industrial structures
• Construct and support various MEP projects
• Use equipment to perform earthwork, demolition, site clearing, and cleanup
• Use hand and measurement tools and manual equipment (saws, squares, shovels, etc.)
• Support site civil and outdoor infrastructure projects

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 1+ years of commercial, industrial, or civil construction experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in many construction environments
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R), concrete, framing, and industrial gas trade systems
• Knowledge of basic math, engineering, and construction principles and methods
• Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed schematics, drawings/blueprints, and instructions
• Ability to offer feedback to the design team to improve cost, quality, and constructability
• Written and verbal communication skills; use of MS Outlook and Teams
• Experience in a fast-paced construction environment
• Self-motivated and works well with others
• Safety training and use of forklifts, scissor lifts, and heavy equipment
• Experience with mechanical systems, carpentry, concrete, welding, earthwork, and conduits

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work hours depend on site priorities and may require extended hours, weekends, and holidays; flexibility required
• Periodic work in extreme outdoor environments: heat, cold, wind, rain
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform regular manual labor
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time; work at heights, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required
• Must have a valid driver’s license
