Senior Environmental Consultant - Environmental Engineering, Geology & Compliance

We are seeking a Construction Technician 1 to join our team and perform construction inspections on various Power Generation projects in the Greater Philadelphia, PA area. The candidate will be responsible for interpreting specifications and construction drawings, evaluating site conditions based on soil and rock samples, monitoring and reporting on construction activities, and performing field testing of soils and concrete. The successful candidate will document construction progress through daily reports, status reports, and other data reporting methods.

Job Duties:
  • Interpret specifications and construction drawings.
  • Evaluate site conditions based on soil and rock samples.
  • Monitor and report on construction activities.
  • Perform field testing of soils and concrete.
Job Requirements:
  • 0-5 years of construction experience with earthwork, foundation inspection, test boring inspection, and concrete testing, or a Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with Nuclear Density Gauge Testing, ACI Grade 1 Certification, and OSHA 10-hour Training is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% daily, mainly within Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with occasional trips to Virginia.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, perform physically demanding tasks, and lift between 25 and 50 lbs routinely.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with good interaction with staff, clients, and field representatives.
  • Strong organizational skills and adherence to safety procedures.
General Characteristics:
  • Developing advanced field operation skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • Good visual and hearing skills.
  • Flexible with work hours and willing to travel up to 100% during weekdays and occasional weekends.
  • Ability to lead tasks and work independently or manage crews when necessary.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Driver's License required.
Technical Responsibilities:
  • Review plans and specifications for field observations.
  • Conduct tests and investigations to determine physical properties of construction materials.
  • Collect and prepare soil, asphalt, and concrete samples, record data, and prepare reports.
  • Document field activities, observations, and testing results.
  • Perform laboratory and field tests according to standards.
  • Use specialized equipment for analysis, reports, and drawings.
  • Communicate testing results with staff, contractors, and clients.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact well with staff, clients, and field reps.
