Job description

Amentum is actively seeking candidates interested in a full-time non‑exempt employee opportunity as Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) located in Annapolis Junction, MD. This position provides construction surveillance services at selected Government facilities being constructed within the United States.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday 1pm-9pm

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide basic physical security in accordance with Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) policies and Intelligence Community Standard (ICS) 705-1, -Physical and Technical Standards for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities.
  • Conduct surveillance and understand the construction trades to closely monitor all construction activities and materials to ensure the security integrity of the building.
  • Inspect, detect, and report any unauthorized technical penetrations and thwart implanted clandestine technical collection devices.
  • Work closely with the assigned Government Site Security Manager (SSM) to ensure all established security policies and procedures are followed.
  • Supplement site security access controls by implementing screening and inspection procedures and monitoring uncleared construction personnel in accordance with the Construction Security Plan (CSP).
  • Conduct inspections of Protected Distribution System (PDS) and report any anomalies to the SSM.
Construction Surveillance Technician must have the ability to:
  • Stay standing for four hours or longer per day.
  • Work in inclement weather conditions including extreme heat, extreme cold, humidity, and various other adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time.
  • Lift (up to 20 lbs.), stand, walk, sit, and bend throughout the workday.
  • Walk across uneven surfaces, climb ladders, and frequently go up and down stairs.
  • Work all shifts and weekends to meet customer requirements.
  • Make logical, mentally competent, and safe decisions when working on a construction site.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in the construction industry with knowledge of two or more of the following disciplines:
    • Carpentry (rough-in, finish)
    • Electricity
    • Plumbing
    • HVAC
    • Sheet Metal
    • Welding
    • Dry Wall
    • Masonry
  • Knowledge of construction safety, construction project cycles, and common nomenclature of material/equipment.
  • Read, speak, and understand English language fluently.
  • Ability to complete written reports and forms.
  • Provide excellent customer service skills.
Security Clearance Required

TS/SCI with polygraph

Minimum Education

HS diploma or GED

Minimum Years of Experience

3+ years of CST experience or focus in two or more trades.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits

This is an hourly, overtime‑eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.

Compensation Details

$23.26-$39.57
