IREN is seeking a Construction Supervisor - Mechanical to oversee the installation of advanced mechanical and liquid cooling systems in next‑gen data centers. You will lead field teams, collaborate with engineers and electricians, and ensure flawless performance in high‑demand compute environments.

You are a hands-on leader with strong technical skills, ready to tackle challenging projects and contribute to sustainable, high‑performance infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical construction or supervision on industrial or large commercial projects.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with liquid cooling systems in data centers or similar high-tech facilities.
• Journeyman or Master Mechanical License, AWS CWI, or equivalent preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification required; First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and project specifications.
• Strong understanding of liquid cooling technologies, heat transfer, and data center mechanical infra.
• Familiarity with mechanical testing tools such as pressure gauges, flow meters, and thermal imaging.
• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and maintain professionalism.
• High attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and supervise mechanical technicians, fitters, and subcontractors on liquid cooling systems.
• Monitor team performance and ensure compliance with project goals, quality, and safety.
• Oversee installation of mechanical systems per drawings, specs, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Coordinate mechanical activities with other trades to support integration of systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and QA/QC to resolve issues and maintain progress.
• Ensure installations meet data center standards and client requirements.
• Verify materials and equipment comply with submittals and specs.
• Support QA/QC inspections and address non-conformances promptly.
• Supervise pressure testing, flushing, and balancing of cooling loops.
• Oversee testing of cooling systems for thermal, flow-rate, and reliability performance.
• Assist commissioning teams in validating operation under load.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and site safety requirements; conduct safety audits.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor schedules and adjust manpower to meet deadlines.
• Track progress and report to Construction Manager and project team.
• Manage material and equipment inventories to avoid delays.
• Provide technical guidance on installation, integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Identify and resolve field challenges with practical solutions.

• Employees working night shifts will receive a 15% premium added to their hourly rate only for hours worked during night shifts.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and supervise mechanical technicians, fitters, and subcontractors working on liquid cooling systems (e.g., direct-to-chip cooling, rear-door heat exchangers), piping, pumps, valves, and HVAC systems.

• Monitor team performance and ensure workforce compliance with project goals, quality requirements, and safety standards.

• Oversee the installation of mechanical systems and ensure all work aligns with project drawings, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines.

• Coordinate mechanical activities with other trades—including electrical, plumbing, and structural—to support seamless integration of systems.

• Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and QA/QC teams to resolve technical issues and maintain project progress.

• Ensure all mechanical installations meet data center standards, industry codes, and client requirements.

• Verify compliance of materials and equipment with approved submittals and project specifications.

• Support QA/QC inspections and address non‑conformance issues promptly and effectively.

• Supervise pressure testing, flushing, and balancing of liquid cooling loops to ensure leak‑free operation and optimal system performance.

• Oversee functional and performance testing of cooling systems to validate thermal, flow‑rate, and reliability performance.

• Assist commissioning teams in validating mechanical system operation under real or simulated load conditions.

• Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety protocols, and site‑specific safety requirements.

• Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and job‑site inspections to promote safe work practices.

• Investigate and report incidents or near‑miss events and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

• Monitor daily and weekly work schedules and adjust manpower or resources to meet project deadlines.

• Track installation progress and provide updates to the Construction Manager and project management team.

• Manage material and equipment inventories to avoid delays and ensure timely availability of resources.

• Provide technical guidance on installation, integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of liquid cooling and mechanical systems.

• Identify and resolve field challenges—including design conflicts and equipment malfunctions—using practical, timely solutions.

• Stay current with advancements in liquid cooling and data center mechanical technologies and help integrate best practices into field operations.
