Job summary

CIMCO Refrigeration Inc. seeks a Construction Superintendent to lead all onsite field operations for industrial refrigeration projects. You will manage crews, coordinate materials, ensure safety, and align work with drawings, specs, and CIMCO standards while maintaining documentation and client communication.

Strong ammonia refrigeration knowledge and proven field leadership are required. You will be the primary interface for customers, subcontractors, and internal teams, driving productivity

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial refrigeration construction focused on ammonia systems.
• Ability to supervise crews and coordinate field operations.
• Strong reading of blueprints and technical drawings; knowledge of piping and welding.
• Familiarity with IIAR standards and pressure testing methods.
• Willingness to obtain RETA 1 & 2, EPA certs, OSHA 30 if not already held.
• Excellent communication with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate material deliveries, inventory, and look-ahead schedules.
• Generate weld maps and maintain field documentation; report discrepancies.

• Conduct daily coordination meetings and provide technical guidance.
• Maintain CIMCO vehicles and tool trailers; ensure safety compliance with CIMCO standards.
• Deliver as-built drawings and ensure alignment with drawings and specs.
• Assist with material takeoffs and equipment identification.
• Support project planning including crane picks and safety requirements.

Job description

A Construction Superintendent at CIMCO leads all onsite field operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution of industrial refrigeration construction projects. This role oversees daily crew activities, coordinates materials and equipment, maintains accurate documentation, and ensures all work aligns with current drawings, specifications, and CIMCO safety standards. With strong ammonia refrigeration knowledge and proven field leadership, the Superintendent serves as the primary onsite contact for customers, subcontractors, and internal teams; driving productivity, resolving issues quickly, and delivering reliable results that support successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all crewmembers are actively engaged and working in accordance with CIMCO safety and quality procedures.
• Partner with the Sr./General Superintendent and Project Manager to ensure active jobs are staffed with appropriate trades.
• Coordinate daily communication and activities with customers, management, and subcontractors onsite.
• Plan and coordinate site material and consumable deliveries; ensure items are onsite and inventoried at least two weeks prior to scheduled work.
• Receive, inventory, and document all equipment and material deliveries; report discrepancies to the Project Manager.
• Generate detailed weld maps for all installed piping.
• Submit accurate weekly timesheets for all field hands and rig welders.
• Conduct daily coordination meetings and provide technical guidance and problem‑solving support.
• Maintain accurate field documentation and ensure CIMCO vehicles and tool trailers are properly maintained.
• Verify current project documentation is followed, including drawings, specifications, RFIs, change orders, and submittals.
• Deliver quality red‑lined as‑built drawings upon project completion.
• Assist with material takeoffs and rental equipment identification.
• Support development of 3‑week look‑ahead schedules and crane pick plans with safety requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• 7–10 years of experience in industrial refrigeration construction, including ammonia systems
• 3+ years in a supervisory or superintendent role
• Ability to travel up to 6 weeks at a time
• Strong knowledge of piping systems, welding, reciprocating and screw compressors, and cold storage construction standards
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Familiarity with IIAR standards and pressure testing methods
• RETA 1 & 2 certification (preferred; must be willing to obtain)
• Universal EPA certification (preferred; must be willing to obtain)
• OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients and crews
• Proficiency with basic computer tools for documentation and scheduling
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in elevated or confined spaces
• Ability to work extended shifts in varying weather conditions
