Job summary

F.A. Wilhelm Construction is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on active projects in Indiana. The role oversees field personnel and subcontractors, coordinates with Project and Operations Managers, and drives safety, quality, and on-time delivery on site.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years in field construction with at least 5 years in a superintendent role, plus knowledge of construction methods. OSHA 30 certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of field construction experience.
• Minimum 5 years of superintendent experience.
• Knowledgeable in construction methods.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine field personnel needs and assign work.
• Supervise, coordinate, and schedule field personnel and subcontractors.
• Plan and coordinate all project phases with Project and Operations Managers.
• Inspect, approve, and report labor time.
• Monitor site safety and address deficiencies; conduct toolbox talks.
• Train field personnel in construction methods and safety procedures.
• Create and maintain cost/labor reports and field P.O.s.
• Ensure equipment, vehicles, and machinery are properly maintained; arrange repairs as needed.
• Routinely inspect site to ensure compliance with contract specs and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Personnel


• Determine field personnel needs and assign work based on the project.


• Supervise, coordinate, and schedule activities of field personnel and subcontractors.


• Plan and coordinate all phases of the project with Project and Operations Managers.


• Inspect, approve, and report all labor time.


• Safety


• Monitor jobsite safety and take appropriate action to address and correct safety deficiencies.


• Conduct weekly \"Toolbox Talks\" and maintain all associated reports.


• Investigate and report any accident or incident to Risk Management, Corporate Safety Director, and Project Manager.


• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations including safety, health, and welfare.


• Jobsite


• Train field personnel in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures and company policies.


• Create and accurately maintain cost/labor reports, maintain field P.O.'s and rental logs.


• Ensure all equipment, vehicles, and machinery are properly maintained. Arrange for repairs/replacements, as necessary.


• Routinely inspect the construction site and work progress to maintain compliance with contract specifications along with company quality and safety standards.

What It Takes

• 10 years of field construction experience


• Minimum of 5 years' experience in superintendent role


• Knowledgeable of Construction methods


• Osha 30 certification preferred.
