Job summary

RONI Group, a multidisciplinary construction company serving Houston, TX, seeks an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on diverse projects. The role requires hands-on leadership across earthwork, utilities, demolition, and concrete scopes, with travelling between Houston-area sites.

The Superintendent will coordinate crews and subcontractors, maintain safe, productive job sites, and ensure quality and schedule adherence while communicating with the Project Manager

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan upcoming work and ensure the required labor, materials, equipment and information are available.
• Review drawings, specifications, work plans and project requirements with field teams.
• Coordinate applicable earthwork, utilities, demolition, vertical concrete and flatwork concrete scopes.
• Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding progress, risks, manpower, schedule and field conditions.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate effectively with clients, inspectors, consultants and subcontractors.
• Identify constructability issues and work with the project team to develop practical solutions.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on construction projects throughout the Houston, TX area.

This position is suited to a hands‑on field leader with experience across multiple construction disciplines, including earthwork, underground utilities, demolition, vertical concrete and flatwork concrete. Expertise in every area is not required, but the successful candidate should have strong experience in at least two or three of these disciplines.

The Superintendent will coordinate crews and subcontractors, maintain safe and productive job sites, monitor project quality and schedule, and communicate regularly with the Project Manager and client representatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Operations and Project Coordination

• Lead daily field activities from site mobilization through project completion.
• Coordinate company crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials and site logistics.
• Plan upcoming work and ensure the required labor, materials, equipment and information are available.
• Review drawings, specifications, work plans and project requirements with field teams.
• Coordinate applicable earthwork, utilities, demolition, vertical concrete and flatwork concrete scopes.
• Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding progress, risks, manpower, schedule and field conditions.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate effectively with clients, inspectors, consultants and subcontractors.
• Identify constructability issues and work with the project team to develop practical solutions.

Safety and Quality

• Promote and enforce company safety policies and project-specific safety requirements.
• Lead pre-task planning, toolbox talks and daily safety discussions.
• Confirm that crews and subcontractors follow approved work plans and safe construction practices.
• Monitor workmanship and verify that completed work meets drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate inspections, testing and corrective work when required.
• Maintain an organized, professional and secure job site.
• Promptly communicate safety incidents, quality concerns and significant field issues to project leadership.

Scheduling and Field Documentation

• Develop and maintain short-term work plans and two- to three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Track daily progress against the project schedule and communicate potential delays.
• Complete accurate daily reports covering manpower, equipment, completed work, deliveries, site conditions and project issues.
• Document delays, additional work, changed conditions and other events that may affect cost or schedule.
• Review and provide field input on RFIs, submittals, change orders and as-built documentation.
• Monitor material and equipment lead times to reduce potential project delays.
• Support punch-list completion, final inspections, project closeout and turnover activities.

Qualifications :

• Minimum of 3-5 years of construction experience, including experience in a field-leadership or supervisory position.
• Strong experience in at least two of the following disciplines: earthwork, underground utilities, demolition, vertical concrete or flatwork concrete.
• Experience working for a general contractor, civil contractor, demolition contractor, concrete contractor or specialty contractor.
• Ability to read and interpret civil, structural and construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, field operations, equipment and site logistics.
• Experience coordinating self-performed crews and subcontractors.
• Working knowledge of construction safety regulations and quality-control practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to plan upcoming work, identify potential issues and keep field operations progressing.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to projects throughout the Houston area.
