Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead erection projects for structural steel and miscellaneous metals. You will read specifications and blueprints, create and manage schedules, coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, and support the Project Manager with WIPs and change orders on site.

You will ensure safety, quality, and cost controls while maintaining strong client relationships and coordinating with fabrication to meet schedule and delivery goals.

Qualifications

• Prior Construction Superintendent experience
• 5+ years of experience in construction site work preferred
• Valid US drivers license is required
• Structural Steel or Miscellaneous Metals experience a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project scheduling software
• Knowledge of Tekla (Powerfab, Trimble Connect) software programs is a plus
• Knowledge of safety, quality, and cost control standards and procedures
• Knowledge of applicable and proper use for transit, laser level, torpedo, torque guns, welders, gas supplied equipment, rigging and components

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate structural steel and miscellaneous erection projects
• Read specifications and blueprints to determine locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required
• Create schedules that include preconstruction planning, weekly progress, deliveries, turnovers, and closeout procedures
• Manage vendors and subcontractors
• Assist the Project Manager in the monthly Work in Progress reports (WIPs) based on field labor productivity
• Monitor project safety
• Coordinate field quality control reporting and survey coordination
• Assist Project Manager in developing change orders
• Maintain positive client relationships and communicate effectively with all parties associated with the project
• Communicate and coordinate with other project contractors and fabrication to maintain schedule, deliver of materials, and mitigate design conflicts
• Issue corrective action notices to subcontractors, as required, to enforce company and/or project guidelines/policies
• Effectively organize and maintain important documents in both a hard copy and electronic format
