Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sourcing Specialist, Construction (Starlink) to lead procurement for construction materials, equipment and services. You will create sourcing strategies, evaluate bids, manage supplier relationships and drive cross-functional teams to meet project delivery goals.

Onsite role with travel up to 20-50% and ITAR compliance. You will leverage ERP data, Excel, SQL and Power BI to enable decision making and cost reductions. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Engineering, Purchasing, Contract negotiation, Material or production planning, Operations or supply chain management, Material cost control, Master production scheduling; or 6+ years in one or more of these areas.
• Candidate should be able to mine data from ERP using Excel, SQL and Power BI to support decisions.
• Experience managing high-spend portfolios (e.g. $10M+) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create sourcing strategies to reduce risk and align with payment terms, cash targets, on-time delivery, and cost savings.
• Build relationships and drive cross-functional teams to achieve opportunities.
• Evaluate construction delivery methods and select the appropriate one per project.
• Evaluate and organize construction proposals using Masterformat divisions.
• Assess contractor EMR ratings to identify risks.
• Develop should-cost models for MEP equipment (chillers, HVAC, electrical panels, wiring, pipes, plumbing fixtures).
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for construction materials, equipment, and services.
• Maintain a healthy contractor pool and anticipate demand for projects.
• Negotiate terms including price, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
• Oversee supply chain to ensure timely delivery; coordinate with project managers to avoid delays.
• Create, develop and oversee RFP process; evaluate bids and identify negotiation opportunities.

Education

Bachelor's degree

2+ years in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, material/production planning, operations or supply chain management, material cost control, master production scheduling

6+ years of experience in one or more of the listed areas
