Job summary

American Structurepoint's Construction Solutions Group in Cincinnati, OH invites motivated Civil Engineering students to join our summer internship program. Trainees will gain hands-on field experience inspecting construction work, testing materials, and tracking project progress while supporting office tasks.

You'll work with contractors and design teams, use tools like Microsoft Office, Appia, SiteManager and BlueBeam, and participate in project meetings.

Qualifications

• Student majoring in Civil Engineering or related field
• Valid Driver's License
• Strong work ethic and clear communication
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with contractors, designers, utility companies, and residents to keep projects on track
• Gain hands-on experience with material testing for asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and soils
• Observe construction sites and document daily progress
• Use Microsoft Office, Appia, SiteManager, and BlueBeam to organize and report project info
• Support projects involving roads, bridges, and utility systems impacting communities
• Take on other tasks as needed to support the team

Responsibilities

What you will do:

• Help keep projects running smoothly by coordinating with contractors, designers, utility companies, and local residents - getting a front-row seat to how everything comes together
• Gain hands‑on experience with material testing for asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and soils - learning the science behind construction quality
• Visit construction sites to observe daily contractor activities, document progress, and ensure everything stays on track
• Use tools like Microsoft Office, Appia, SiteManager, and BlueBeam to organize and report project info - building your tech skills along the way
• Support real construction projects involving roads, bridges, and utility systems— projects that directly impact communities
• Other tasks as needed to support the team

Qualifications

• Student majoring in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Land Surveying, Structural Engineering, or a related field with a focus on Civil Engineering
• Valid Driver's License for transportation to the office and between project sites
• Strong work ethic, clear communication skills, and a genuine eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
