We are seeking a Construction Site Superintendent to coordinate and manage field operations on assigned construction solar projects, with a primary focus on safety, quality, schedule, and efficiency. This role serves as the on-site leadership representative and primary connection between field crews, subcontractors, Project Managers, Safety, and Quality. The Superintendent plans, coordinates, communicates, documents, and supervises daily project activities to ensure work is completed safely, in accordance with project requirements, and within the established schedule and budget.

Salary

The hourly rate is $32-38/hour which is commensurate with related knowledge, skills, and experience.AnAnnual Bonus Target representing 5% of your annual base salary/annual wages is paid based on meeting both organizational and individual targets.

Major Responsibilities of Position

Safety Compliance and Risk Mitigation

• Make safety the primary consideration in every decision. Safety takes priority over schedule and budget.
• Maintain appropriate safety controls to ensure compliance with all federal, state local, health and safety laws and ordinances including but not limited to ASHE, OSHA, MIOSHA, MDH and DOT requirements and Harvest Solar standards.
• Oversee daily or weekly Job Hazard Analyses, as required by the client or Harvest Solar, before crews begin work, when conditions change, and when additional personnel enter a task or work area. During simultaneous operations, coordinate a “Meet and Greet” so crews can review and share applicable JHAs.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and proper condition of assigned vehicles, connexes, and the job site.
• Support the Safety team in developing site-specific safety plans.
• Post and maintain all required site signage.
• Ensure dig tickets are current before and during all applicable work activities.
• Complete SWPPP inspections as required, verify compliance, and coordinate maintenance of SWPPP best management practices.
• Daily: Be the first person on site; perform a daily safety walk-around, including items such as trench inspections when applicable; ensure daily sign-in is completed for all personnel; verify equipment inspections are complete; and confirm JHAs are reviewed before each task begins.
• Weekly: Perform SWPPP inspections weekly and after storm events; participate in subcontractor meetings; and participate in toolbox talks with all personnel on site.
• As Needed: Provide site orientation for each person on their first day; document observations as they arise

Quality Control and Technical Oversight

• Review and interpret blueprints, diagrams, manufacturer data sheets, and technical specifications to verify proper project construction. Submit RFI requests to the Project Manager as needed.
• Support the Quality Department in developing the Quality Plan and verifying that all project scopes are inspected to established quality standards.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager to schedule third-party testing when applicable.
• Track observations and punch list items, and coordinate follow-up to ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Complete and maintain Procore inspections as needed throughout project construction.
• Understand, review, and manage project plans, specifications, and manufacturers data and execute project based upon said documentation.
• Review construction documents for completeness and constructability.
• Field Leadership and Crew Management
• Lead on-site employees, subcontractors, and other workers.
• Direct workflows across multiple disciplines, including pre-construction planning, civil site preparation, mechanical and electrical installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks and coordinate Plan of the Day meetings to align work, progress, and communication.
• Conduct on-site project meetings with subcontractors and construction trades lead personnel.

Management and supervision of work crews onsite including:

• Mentor and train field personnel.
• Manage foreman and their duties and ensure all have resources and information to perform their tasks effectively and efficiently.
• Provide effective performance evaluations to field personnel.
• Provide feedback on processes and procedures, as the company truly believes in continuous development.

Scheduling and Project Coordination

• Plan equipment placement, temporary power needs, staging areas, offload areas, and other site-specific requirements.
• Coordinate deliveries, milestones, and project needs with Project Managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Work with the project teams to budget, forecast and manage field personnel as well as management of labor, equipment, materials, tools and other cost considerations.
• Manage the overall project and 3-week look ahead schedules, including creating the master schedule and updating it on a weekly basis.
• Generate RFI’s (Request for Information) as required to ensure completeness of the project documents, identifying, and clarifying any discrepancies.

Documentation and Client Communication

• Submit daily and/or weekly field reports, including installation quantities, weather delays, hours worked, and other relevant project information.
• Communicate project status, progress, concerns, and challenges clearly with Project Managers, client representatives, and landowners.
• Follow established RFI processes and support Project Managers with as-built documentation.
• Maintain job site records, including SWPPP documentation, delivery records, RFIs, JHAs, daily sign-in sheets, and related project documentation.
• Ensure all required materials, equipment and inspections occur to support the project schedule.

• Commercial Construction Setting 90-100% of the time: Job Site terrain and outdoor work with exposure to weather fluctuations in addition to construction site hazards.
• Travel Required 90-100% of the time: Position supports job site activities therefore daily and overnight travel is required. Hotel and transportations costs are covered. Additionally, food per diem is paid for overnight stays.
• Shop Environment 10% of the time: Position supports shop activities therefore, exposure to industrial safety hazards, loud and sudden noises, hot/humid and cold conditions.
• Project may require extended work hours and workdays, up to and including Seven Day Work Week,
• (Typically Saturday and Sunday) up to 12 hours per day. Up to and including the length of the project.

Educational and Certification Background

Immediately after Hire:
