Job summary

Elite Property Renovations is seeking a Construction Site Superintendent to oversee day-to-day operations on residential renovation projects in Altoona, PA. You will coordinate crews and subcontractors, manage schedules, ensure work meets plans, quality standards, and building codes, and maintain site safety.

You will work with the management team to deliver projects on time and within scope, provide daily progress reports, and lead or support training for trade partners and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent trade experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in new and/or renovation construction.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.
• Bilingual preferred; mastery of English required.
• Advanced experience in digital communication through email, shared calendars and file systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Manager to develop project schedules and drive team members and subcontractors in meeting deadlines.
• Assist Project Manager in the development of scopes and budgets while enforcing adherence throughout the duration of the project.
• Manage and oversee all project labor manpower, scheduling 1 week look-aheads.
• Provide daily production reports on project progress via Google Cloud and FlipperForce.
• Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to project team.
• Ensures specifications and regulations are met.

Role Description

The Construction Site Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Altoona, PA, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations on residential construction and renovation projects. This role coordinates crews and subcontractors, manages project schedules, and ensures work is completed according to plans, quality standards, and building codes. The superintendent monitors site safety, conducts regular inspections, addresses issues, and maintains a clean, organized job site. Daily responsibilities include tracking materials and equipment, supporting budget and cost control efforts, communicating with project managers, and documenting project progress. This position works closely with the management team to deliver projects on time, within scope, and with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Manager to develop project schedules and drive team members and subcontractors in meeting deadlines.
• Assist Project Manager in the development of scopes and budgets while enforcing adherence throughout the duration of the project.
• Manage and oversee all project labor manpower, scheduling 1 week look-a heads.
• Provide daily production reports on project progress via Google Cloud and FlipperForce.
• Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to project team; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.
• Collaborates with project team to ensure specifications, zoning requirements, and other regulations are met.
• Ensures specifications and regulations are followed.
• Meets with inspectors and municipality representatives in coordinating site inspections.
• Maintains records related to inventory.
• Addresses any safety violations or other deficiencies while holding contractors accountable to safety standards.
• Provides hands-on, on-site training to trade partners and employees.
• Be able to lead or assist as manpower, to help the team accomplish production goals.
• Attend team meetings and contribute to group discussions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent trade experience preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in new and/or renovation construction.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excels in a team environment and able to communicate effectively with coworkers and sub-contractors.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.
• Detail-oriented and production driven.
• Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.
• Thorough understanding of code requirements relating to construction and building sites.
• Thorough understanding of quality building practices.

Working conditions

The worker is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. The worker may be subject to extreme cold: temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. The worker may be subject to extreme heat: temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions such as wind and humidity. The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. The worker may be subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. The worker is subject to one or more of the following atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation. The worker is at times required to wear a respirator.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk, talk, hear, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and grasp. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; performing mechanical or skills trade tasks; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes; and assessment of the assigned work’s accuracy, thoroughness, and neatness upon completion.
