Job summary

Clune Construction Company is seeking a Site Safety Manager to oversee safety on a local construction project in Chicago, focusing on compliance with safety and environmental procedures and collaborating with the Risk Management team.

The role involves leading safety education, auditing documentation, and coordinating with the Regional Safety Director to drive the safety program on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field, or 5–10 years of education/experience.
• Construction – OSHA 30 hour certification, preferred.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Act as an internal consultant to all company business units with respect to safety.
• Ensure Clune employee, trade partner, visitor and vendor compliance with Clune safety guidelines, project requirements, local, state, and national regulations.
• Work with the project team and Regional Safety Director or Manager to ensure safety programs and protocols for the project meet and/or exceed client safety requirements.
• Ensure all required client safety documentation has been provided to our trade partners.
• Review, audit and file all required client safety documentation.
• Provide updated safety statistics for client upon request.
• Provide safety guidance in the planning stages for project.
• Coordinate, manage and/or conduct safety education programs for Clune Management, Supervision, and Employees.
• Attend and contribute to company and project safety meetings.
• Attend outside training for added designations and to keep up with changes in the industry.
• Role model professionally for Clune employees, trade partners, visitors and vendors.
