Job summary

McCownGordon Construction is seeking a construction laborer to support daily site operations on active projects in Kansas City. You will perform general labor tasks, material handling, cleanup, and assist trades to maintain a clean, safe worksite.

The role requires physical stamina, comfort with lifting up to 100 pounds, and a commitment to safety. OSHA-10 and first aid/CPR training are preferred, with on-the-job training provided for specialized tasks.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with field concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to perform construction activities, including usage of various power tools and small machinery.
• Good interpersonal skills and team spirit.
• Ability to work safely on projects.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and schedules.
• Ability to solve practical problems and follow written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety standards on site.
• Move and handle materials, and assist with storage and organization.
• Perform final cleanup before owner turnover.
• Demolish existing structures as needed to make way for new work.
• Assist with water removal and weather-related precautions.
• Support use of temporary safety measures and equipment.
• Operate basic hand and power tools and small machinery.
• Identify hazards and report safety concerns to keep the site safe.
• Load/unload materials up to 100 pounds and assist crew as required.
