Job summary

G Brands in Grove City, OH is seeking a dependable full-time janitor to perform interim and final cleaning of residential and commercial buildings. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 6am to 2:30pm (some days 7am to 3:30pm).

Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, kitchens, floors, walls, windows, waste removal, and reporting needs to the supervisor. Must have strong customer service, ability to follow instructions, and the stamina to lift up to 50lbs. OSHA compliant PPE provided.

Qualifications

• Basic familiarity with janitorial products and tools.
• Experience in janitorial work not required but preferred.
• Must be able to follow safety instructions and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform interim and final cleaning of assigned residential and commercial buildings.
• Clean restrooms, kitchens, rooms, floors, walls, and windows; remove trash.
• Notify supervisor when supplies or equipment are needed.
• Report problems with equipment or facilities to supervisor.
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear PPE as required.

Position Summary: This position is responsible for providing quality customer service to clients by performing interim and final cleaning of residential and commercial building(s) in which they are assigned to work using industry standard methods and equipment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Restrooms: Cleans and removes dust and debris from sinks, cabinets, tubs, showers, walls, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors, and other surfaces. Polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
• Kitchenette/Break room: clean and remove dust and debris from sinks, countertops, cabinets, tables, floors, chairs, and appliances. Polishes all metalwork.
• Rooms: cleans and removes dust and debris from all interior areas including but not limited to lobbies, closets, washrooms, utility rooms, garages, hallways, patios, and storage areas.
• Floors: sweeps, mops, and/or vacuums facility floors using equipment such as brooms, mops, and vacuum cleaners. Floors may be rugs, carpets, wood, laminate, cement, ceramic, etc. Remove all dust and debris using appropriate tools such as scrubbing, steam cleaning, shampooing, waxing, and polishing.
• Walls/Furniture/Equipment: Remove dust and debris from all interior surfaces including but not limited to walls, ceilings, trim, doors, door frames, and windows. Dusts, cleans, and/or polishes furniture such as desks, shelves, bookcases, partitions, and the like as required. Upholstered furniture may require the use of a vacuum cleaner.
• Windows/Glass: cleans and removes all dust and smudges from interior and exterior windows, mirrors, and glass.
• Trash: Remove any and all trash, dirt, and debris from the interior of the unit and dispose of in the proper area. Remove and dispose of all packing materials and temporary labels.
• Notifies appropriate personnel as supplies and equipment are needed for cleaning duties.
• Reports any problems with broken or damaged items to supervisor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisor responsibilities.

Education/Experience:

A high-school diploma or General Education Degree is preferred but not required. At least one year of experience in the janitorial or related field of work is preferred but not required.

Certifications/Licenses:

A valid Ohio Drivers' License is preferred but not required.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently or regularly required to walk; stand; stoop; kneel; crawl; bend; climb; use arms and hands to finger, handle, reach over head, feel, or grasp objects, tools, or controls; push and pull; frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs; Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. Some jobs require an employee to be exposed to unpleasant and noxious fumes and odors. Some jobs require an employee to hazardous work environments. Some jobs require an employee to work where there is a significant chance of injury. This job requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including eye, face, foot, hand, and head as required by the particular task or job assignment.
